Stealth kills = no weapon loot?

How did they miss this?

Just finished a mission with all stealth (15 kills), didn't get to loot a single weapon.. not even from the "boss". Nice one!

Maybe they figure since you are not actually using any weapons you don't need any, or ammo.

Why are you not getting any? I stealth kill all the time and still get to pick the weapons afterwards.

Are you sure about that? I'm talking about killing enemies that are completely unaware, not the ones that are on alert but doesn't know where you are yet.

Try to find a random gangbanger, go in to stealth, kill with a head-shot or takedown.. I guarantee you that you won't get a weapon from that kill. The npc needs to pull their weapon out first (alert or in combat state) or the weapon simply never comes in to existence.

Yes you do get weapons or loot when stealth killing or incapacitating enemies. Been doing it since the beginning of the game.

I just did a thievery gig and took several people down with stealth while no enemies being aware of anything going on and got loot from every takedown. Sounds like you've ran into a nasty bugger of a bug.

i didnt get any loot from a stealth kill in a specific location. was part of the main quest where you had to get to the "manager" of the place. tried to brute force my way in stealth killing the first guy and he didnt give me a weapon, i then reloaded after failing and punched him, he branded a pistol. HE HAD ONE AND IT DIDNT DROP

I have been killing people in stealth mode who were completely unaware of my presence since i started the game. They all dropped their weapons. I'm not saying this to be mean but have you guys checked around the bodies and most importantly under the bodies? Sometimes you have to pick up the body first before you can see the weapon because it lies under the body. But most of the time the weapon lies somewhere near the body once you have snapped their neck in stealth mode. So if people don't drop their weapons after you killed them in stealth mode then i would say you have found a nasty bug.

OK then this is a really bad and odd bug. Have seen two other people posting about same issue on Reddit now, and I just started a new game to check; still same issue.

Just to be extra clear; unaware enemies that are walking around with weapons out (some corp soldiers, gangs that are part of the open world "illegal" gigs etc), they do drop weapons if killed in stealth. The ones that don't are any enemies that are doing other stuff and aren't scripted to always have a gun out.

I think it's on their corpse. If they haven't drawn their weapon yet it should be in their inventory, but I haven't actually checked. I've done a lot of stealth killing and I'm always weighed down by all the weapons I pick up afterwards.

It's also annoying there's an option to kill someone from a grab and dump their corpse in a nearby container in one swift move, but doing that causes you to miss out on the loot...so it's almost a pointless feature really.

Should have been a perk where grabbing someone automatically loots their weapon + inventory, since they're effectively dead at that point anyway.

I also recommend when you hack someone with non lethal hack ( a lot of them are ) shoot them in the head afterwards... give you nice bonus.

be carful with the bounty missions (skull)
they have legendary blue prints for guns so don't want to miss those.
i may have already lost a few because of this bug lol.
also robots sometimes are not lootable even when the loot icon is above them :|

The weapons drop at the point where you grab them, Not the position where you subdue or kill them (unless its the same spot). I have no experience with stealth kills via weapons though.

I have looted weapons off bodies aswell.

Stealth kills when the enemy has no weapon out, causes no weapons to drop. Example, Contagion hack from a distance killing 5-6 enemies, none of them will drop a weapon. If you short circuit first, it puts the enemies on alert and then they will drop weapons.

yes, this is stupid, because it's a great way to make money/crafting materials.
makes you hesitate to use hacks/ go full stealth because you will lose so much loot/ potential rare weapons :|

Netrunners have it easier, get suicide chip, break into the network, lower the cost by 1-5 RAM, run ping, activate suicide. You get either 1 or 2 weapons from the guy as they drop their main weapon and go for pistol. It's hillarious. Add in one of the iconic nethack cyberware that allows you to run two suicides for the price of one, and you're going to clean up every location in a matter of minute, if not seconds.
