Async compute and GTX 10XX gpus - any educated folks wanna chime in?

Came across a mod on the nexus that gave a bunch of tweaks to the games core. Someone suggested disabling anything that dealt with "async compute" if you had a GTX 10XX series card.

Doing so seems to have vastly improved the games performance on the GTX 1070 I have, Im even able to bump up the graphics settings and still get more FPS than before.

Could this be the reason so many 1060, 1070, and 1080 users are getting much lower than expected framerates in this game on LOW settings even at 1080p?

Seems that the 10XX nvidia gpus dont seem to support async compute, and if CDPR has forced it on in their game, that could explains a lot of the performance issues people are seeing.

By Async compute do you mean everything with async compute in the name?

Can confirm that turning off Async related features does free up some FPS on the 1070.

Didn't do a thing for me on the 1060

make sure you have the enable one removed too... there are a bunch of async options, and an async enable that has to be turned off as well

I play on a 1060 and it didn't give me any extra frames. Was worth the try.

If your GPU isnt close to 100% usage/load, this more than likely wont give many (or any) improved FPS.

If you are getting low performance and your GPU is only seeing 30-40% usage, then its not the bottleneck causing low FPS. (most likely)

Wanted to ask you because I'm looking for a quick fix. Can't afford to wait 4 hours for the creator to respond.
I drag the Cyberpunk icon on my desktop onto the mod, it opens but there are no options. Plain white with nothing on it. Do you perhaps know what might be wrong?
