difference between side jobs and gigs?
I have to say i spent almost 5-6 hours on a single side quest...alone. that ♥♥♥♥ is crazy. but my question is what is the actual difference between sides and gigs? payout? story progression?

I guess story-wise side jobs are missions that involve main characters you've met through the main quest lines and are a reflection of V's personal relationship with those characters.

Gigs are from Fixers, who delegate tasks to Mercs (of which V is) all across night city.

So it's like comparing a personal favour to a contract I guess? Ultimately the side jobs are more interesting as a result, where the gigs are more or less fairly standard "do A, receive B".

just to add, game like this...or like skyrim, fallout ect i always play about 30% through main story and gather up and horde as many side quests as I can. Once i have a butt load ill bang out all the side quests and leave the story alone...but man, this game i had over 40 side quests/gigs/rides it was extreamly overwhelming. IM NOT complaining, just want to know if i should be tackling the sides or the gigs?

like whats the difference

How has a single side quest taken you more than an hour? None of them are that deep. There's some that require you to do other things and then they'll update to the next step, but that's not actually doing the side quest.

I?m looking to buy the game but still gathering some infos.
So you're talking about side jobs and gigs. Are those scripted or randomly generated? Is there a finished amount of them or it's something that could give replayability when you're done finishing everything? I was just curious to figure out what we can do when we did everything.. i mean, other than just restarting a new playthrougth.

Ive always thought that a gig was a musical reference where you and your garage band got picked to play at the summer formal.

I guess it's different now.

Gig is random one time job. Side missions are kinda like side stories

well the douchbag above questioned why a side job took hours, but belive me one did. beside what douchenugget said....riders of the storm clocked me in at around 5 hours.
and at one point i had 40+ side/gig quest available...a lil overwhenlimg but i love haveingthat much ♥♥♥♥ to do
I dont mind how long they take as long as we can save during the process (we dont all have 5h to put straigh for one side quest xD).. i was just wondering if there was a finished amount of them or if they were randomly generated and unlimited?

I dont mind having lot of requests and all. It's keeping one busy! :P

I wasn't being condescending. But if you're going to be such a snowflake about it, then I'll leave you to cry your tears.

sexuality is part of the universe and it was heavy in original 2020 too. It's not your typical west candy crush AAA game. I think, that's why Pondsmith came to CDPRed. Here in Poland we don't give a single ♥♥♥♥ about critical theory and all that marxist crap
