Best answer so far. Thank you!
Well if you note dates of posts, most are also early on first day posts and early speculation based on preliminary experiences. Note that the first 3 1/2 pages are all dated Dec 12, with only a 3 day jump to the 15th for the rest of page 4. Then there is a sudden jump on page five with a Dec 31 post.
So the fact behind so many "I think" responses, is a mere logical result of early examinations versus long term trial. Doesn't really say anything, and is just normally how it goes.
Most can now more definitely say that there is no time factor involved, and all have to do with story progression and certain choices and side quests, with a certain minimal in certain categories for certain endings.
The "Secret Ending" is based off a Fact in your save, sq032_johnny_friend, which I assume gets set on a specific dialogue option in a specific conversation. The percentage is irrelevant to that option.
It's possible they originally had some larger purpose (like a time-limit on the main questline), but now they're just there for a bit of flavour.
I really hope mod tools get made soon so we can dig through how it's all put together.
