Windows 8.1 Compatibility when?

I don't understand why CP won't start at all. People are claiming to be playing the game on DX 11 which is what I have and I got the drivers..

I can run Witcher 3 at 60FPS with no issues whatsoever and CP isn't much of a leap in graphics. Is this going to be fixed in a patch? I've refunded because it literally wouldn't launch..

Not gonna do a full PC wipe for one game. Will re-buy though if it runs on Windows 8/8.1.

Well.. I'm going to Win10 now. But if it still crashes after I re-buy the game then I'm at a complete loss.

Rebuy? If after the upgrade to 10 if steam is not happy, just reinstall it and get your games back.

Also, update graphic drivers asap straight from nvidia

Unfortunately, I downgraded my Win 8.1 OS to Win10 spyware too. There is no other way I'm afraid, if you want to play this game.

windows had spyware since 7 and they added some of the junk from win10 to 7 and 8

I've heard about this but never understood it. I've been using it for like 6 years and never had any issues with it to be honest.

Corporate IT did not like 8, at all. There was literally nothing about it that was helpful... So we insisted on tried and true win7 on all new machines.

Skipped from 7 to 10, just like from:
3.11 = decent
95= the dawn of a blue screen.
98SE = 95, but way more stable.
win2000 = desktop based on the winNT kernel, stable but not for the general public.
Win ME = lucky to not crash every 10 minutes (SKIPPED)
Win XP = by sp3 was not all that bad
Win Vista = ran like ♥♥♥♥ even on high end machines (SKIPPED)
Win 7 = showed promise despite initial issues, after SP2 it was embraced
Win 8 = the ♥♥♥♥ is this?? (SKIPPED)
win 10 = well we have no choice, updates breaking ♥♥♥♥ every other week. Still run many win 7 boxes, but 10 is being adopted well.

Sounds like an unstable PC then. I've been installing updates when they come out on PC - no issues.

Sounds like an unstable PC then. I've been installing updates when they come out on PC - no issues.

Nope, random desktops and laptops. Some take the semi-forced updates in stride, had 16 identical laptops, 4 blew on a drive controller update, other 12 went fine. That is just one of countless experiences.

Do not ever, under any circumstance, upgrade to a different OS, like from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. You're asking for problems. Ignore the people here who are giving such bad advice. If you are going to switch, back up every single file you have, then do a clean install of Windows 10 and put everything back.
