Hacking minigame tricks?
Since the game won't tell me the more advanced rules, I find myself just going by this rule:

"Try to click where you see the numbers appear the most..."

However, I can never seem to get a perfect sweep. At best, I can only get 2/3 of the goals. Is there some dumb detail right in front of my stupid face that I'm not seeing that makes getting 3/3 super easy?

1. you need a large enough buffer
2. you need to find a pattern that all 3 will fit in
3. you need to be able to execute that pattern before time runs out
It's not easy, and I think it is suppose to be that way.

Timer doesn't start till you click, just stare at it and take all the time you need, goes horizontal vertical horizontal etc and can't select a number you've already selected.

it goes like this:
2 vertical. 1 horizontal. 1 vertical

in that order. every time. so all you need is to check which columns have lines you need then go by that rule.
you will be picking two lines in whichever column you start. then picking horizontally from your second click. then finalizing on the column you clicked horizontally. it's rather easy that way.

p. s. I've no idea if it changes the pattern further down the line but so far in my exploration and hacking I haven't seen any other patterns

If you have more than one option you are trying to complete look for matching numbers between them that will count at the same time with one selection.

For example, if you have

7 5 8 1
2 9 7 5

Then you want to input 2, 9, 7, 5, 8, 1

The first 2 and 9 from the bottom row will cause the 7 of that row to line up with the 7 of the top row so it looks like

7 5 8 1
7 5

Then when you hit the 7 and 5 next it will count for both rows leaving you with

8 1

from the top row to finish out.

What you guys said kinda made sense, but I'm gonna have to watch a video guide when someone makes one. I have sat at them for a long time, reloading and retrying, and I could never get 3/3. Statistically, I should have accidentally gotten lucky by now, but idk. Maybe I'm supposed to have a maxxed out cyber skill tree or something.

THANK YOU! I had no idea how this mini-hacking game worked, but this explanation is very helpful...wish I'd read this 10 minutes before I failed cracking both "secrets" on a shard I just acquired :-)

It would be really neat if it worked like that, but it doesn't. In your example, the moment I input that "9", the two other goals will go red because of reasons that I can't fathom based on any logic.

You have a limited buffer size, that's the empty boxes get filled when you click on the letters/numbers. If uploading another hack would take more slots than you have left then they turn red to let you know you don't have a chance anymore.

Don't need a high cyber skill. It is a puzzle with very simple rules. Once you understand them, it is very easy.

Yup, you will see those empty boxes on the right above the codes you are supposed to put in, called the Buffer. That's the max number you will be able to enter. So in my example you would need at least 6 boxes to make it work.

I mean, Ravenlute is the only guy here who gave a cohesive and actually helpful response. I wish someone had mentioned that the way you get 6 buffer spots is by buying the expensive piece of hardware at a ripper rather than perk/attribute points.

Furthermore, no one even answered my question. Even with 6 buffer spots and following the strategy, I still only get 2/3 about 90% of the time. I know it's random, but is the mini-game based on an algorithm that GUARANTEES that you can get 3/3 every time? Because sometimes it starts me off with ♥♥♥♥ options that would immediately cancel the lv3 goal.
