RTX 3070 BAD PERFORMANCE??

I litterally just upgraded from my 1070ti to a new RTX 3070 ASUS TUF GAMING
CPU:i79700k

My fps didnt improve a single bit i just get 30/50 fps on low/high/ultra raytracing off and on even with DLSS with ultra performance it seems to do nothing to fix the fps for me

while im seeing all these 3070 benchmarks easily getting 100+ fps with DLSS performance etc..

wtf ?

I'm playing Doom eternal almost maxed out on a 1080ti 3440x1440 at 50-70 fps. I played Rdr2 at medium with 50+, and I played witcher at max 80+. This game got me to 30-50 at low settings, bad optimization. I'd highly recommend waiting a couple of months for patches if you really want to full experience, game is probably good when you get into it. I only played for 1.5 hours until I refunded.

I'll give you one guess what's really fake.

Idk man i cant really tell if they are fake or not because they all seem to be getting consistent results and fps on identical settings

I have a 3070 and a r5 3600, it runs pretty badly. Afterburner says cpu utilization is at like 50% and gpu utilization is low too. The gpu only gets to 95-99% when I crank up the settings, otherwise it can go down to 40% depending how low I set the settings. Can't really get solid 60fps in the city no matter what I do. I do see a few threads on the cpu get utilized at 85% though. Maybe it's bottlenecking then, I don't know. But now the game just crashes when I try to load a save so I got bigger issues smh

There is a problem with your PC Op. I don't know what.

I remember when I played NFS Heat on my rig, it refused to go above 30 FPS, no matter what I did. Found out that in my case, it was Acronis Active Protection that chewed through all my framerate. When I removed it, I jumped to 80.

I'm not saying you have Acronis Active Protection, but maybe something in your system is bottlenecking you when it should not.

Its because you are at 1440p. The lower the resolution the less the GPU is doing and the more the CPU is getting hit while the graphics card is waiting on it.

That why hardware reviewers test CPU's for gaming at 1080p.

Ive tried it now and no improvement whatsoever

3600 + 3070 ~ 1440p Ultrawide on High, DLSS on Performance with RTX On but lighting on medium - Lucky if I get 55 FPS, low 30s in the busy streets.

The game is a mess....

The game definitely can use an optimization pass but with the new consoles getting 8 core AMD CPU's and both Intel and AMD having affordable 8+ core consumer chips out I suspect we are going to see more and more games distributing load across an ever increasing number of cores and threads.

There was only so far single core clocks were going to go.

This game is extremely heavy on the CPU and that's what is limiting your performance. I have the same specs, same problem. 100% usage on my 9700k at 5 GHz. Ray tracing + dlss seems to put even more strain on the CPU for some reason, because performance is worse while GPU usage drops. So it's definitely not a GPU bottleneck.

Idnk if its even the cpu at this point im using a gaming laptop gtx 2070 super and get a solid 120 frames no issues everything on ultra/high

Putting your graphics settings on high/ultra helps if you have a weaker CPU. The GPU is busier and is not hitting the CPU as hard.

This is specifically why hardware reviewers test CPU's for gaming at 1080p. That is a worst case scenario for the CPU.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ man this game needs optimization badly i mean DLSS is supposed to be the holy grail of fps increase
