Key Remap Issue
I'm on PC with M/KB for controls. I game L handed so I remap most of the vanilla keyboard functions. I had no problem remapping last night EXCEPT for CP won't accept my remap of the W and S (forward and backwards) character movement keys to the forward and back arrow keys?! I got a prompt saying something like "key remap failed".

Strangely; I had no trouble remapping the A and D movement keys to the L and R arrow keys?!

The game has accepted a W and S reamap to the number pad 8 and 5 keys (after which I tried to remap to the forward and back arrows----wouldn't accept that either).

I t won't let me remap the default use key (F) to the Enter key either (everything else I've remapped has worked fine.

I tried to log in to my CDPR account/technical sub forum to let them know about this issue; only to be advised I was logging in from a different device (hadn't been on their site in at least 3 years); all their attempts to send me a security code have failed so I'm stuck in a Catch 22 type not being able to log in situation with them. Ggggggggrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

Any other PC gamers run into this not accepting a key remap issue? What were your particulars if you don't mind? TY!

Hi there, I have EXACTLY the same problem! I use the mouse with left hand and use cursor keys for walking, I can not use "uparrow" as "move forward" and can not re-assign "F". Put the movement now on the numeric keyboard but this is not optimal. Hope there will be a fix soon.

I'm using the cursor keys through a little program called KeyTweak, but there are similar programs out there. I found it through an online guide: https://windowsreport.com/keyboard-mapping-software/

The only downside is having to either restart Windows or relog into your Windows Account after changing the settings, because it is a registry fix.

Got to nexus and download the keybinding mod. you're welcome.

You can rebind those keys through \steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\r6\config\inputUserMappings.xml

or you can do that.

my entire family is left handed. we use arrow keys for moving. this is so rookie development, refund issued. biggest disappointment in gaming in a long time

Here's another guide:

https://frondtech.com/cyberpunk-2077-how-to-bind-movement-to-arrow-keys/

Fairly easy to do actually. I do kinda wonder why devs don't implement something as simple as that. It's kinda weird.

Cdor noted that it does not need to fix binding. Gamers will use other software
CD/P/R has of course demonstrated itself to be atrocious with all the myriad major issues with this launch, sadly "keybinding" is simply a slap in the face to physically impaired or left-handers. You only have to look at the official book where they tell you go buy a controller :)

It is utterly pathetic that fanbois justify this crap by saying "well you can go edit a file" which presumes everyone is technically competent or smart enough to do so (which many are not), or other who say "go download some mod" which in and of itself should never ever be a requisite for being able to properly play any title.

CD/P/R again with this one, demonstrates just how badly it has dropped the ball.

actully, WSAD key mapping is standard default used in all games. So it is not rookie development. Granted this is old IBM DOS game type mapping. Just many games like the ones I have, majority of the key sets can be re-mapped. I'm right handed and I work off the arrow keys and the right side of the keyboard. So i use a combat ready key mapping that works best for me. If anything I can say, this is the first game I ever had that I can not re-map the "F" key. On all my other games "use" is mapped to NUMPAD0, except this one..

Game wasn't made with keyboard/mouse in mind. The PC version is a straight out lazy console port as far as controls go. Rebinding is straight out broken as far as control schems that are nor WASD are concerned.

CD/P/R totally failed here. One of the most basic things in any PC game is the ability to remap keys.

If you are right-handed and use WSAD great, but guess what you are not everyone. If you count the titles over the last 10 years say, that have not had the ability to properly remap keys, it would be a very very small number.
