How To take cover in car shoot outs?

The tutorial said alt and double tap alt. but that only holsters the weapon during the car chase at the start. I had a rly hard time getting past that with a ton of quickloads. So I wanna be prepared for future similar scenarios. Thanks.

EDIT SOLVED: "Q" is the button for me that does it.

Mhh, my tutorial said you just take cover with C, basically same as crouching. Just press C and go behind a cover. That's what the tutorial tells you to do.

I tried C aswell as it seemed like an obvious choice... but nope.

yeah exact same issue here. Luckily I had a good gun that I picked up in that first mission to help get past it, otherwise I was getting fried by enemies pretty quickly since I couldn't take cover.

I don't think there is a cover system. I think they just wanted you to crouch in the tutorial. Cover systems usually don't work well in first person.

is shooting only allowed as passenger? I can't seem to shoot as a driver and frankly, it's idiotic that you can't.

the car chase at the beginning of the nomad lifepath? im not sure you can duck in during that sequence also isnt it just alt to pop out and alt to duck in?

I discovered for me its Q to take cover/get back in the car.
