Why are all the female characters (protagonist included) so ugly?

(To all the people talking about how pretty Judy and Evelyn are, I have not encountered them in the game yet, I've seen the promotional screenshots of them and they sure do look pretty in those, but just keep in mind I have not met those characters as I write this, these are my impressions from the first few hours of gameplay

PS: I really, legitimately want an official CD Projekt answer to this question... What sort of madness drove them to this?)

Man, this is a pretty good game, if we just look at the gameplay...

But the character creator was seriously disappointing, when I was trying to create a female character, we had options for most of the things I wanted to be able to change, but while flipping through the option for each individual feature, I couldn't help but notice that I was never happy with any option.

Even the color choices were dissatisfying, I was constantly just wondering why the hell we didn't get a slider, and why we didn't get the ability to use custom colors instead of choosing from a tiny pre-selected palette of colors for each feature instead...

It also struck me as quite odd that there was no option to have normal eyes, if you selected what looked like should have been normal eyes, you had like a dark grey sclera instead of a regular white one (maybe it's a bug? idk)

But the end result is that it's pretty much impossible to create a truly pretty character (at least female one, not sure how it is for the males), the best you can hope for is not ugly.

And then there are the female NPCs as well, I have not seen a single beautiful female NPC either, but I have seen a lot of butt ugly hags that look like they're in their 50s or 60s wearing skimpy clothes, I'm reminded of playing modded skyrim with skimpy armor mods and making the mistake of allowing old NPCs to wear them too, so you get like skimpily dressed wrinkled old granniies... That's kinda how it feels in cyberpunk for just about every female character.

Did CD Projekt decide to go woke or something? Who exactly is this game for, I was under the impression it was a game by adults for adults, as the lack of censorship and more mature or violent features would imply, but... What happened to the CD Projekt that made the witcher 3? where beautiful women existed, and women with appealing faces were abundant?

I feel like I'm getting mixed messages here... What is the lack of censorship even for, if none of what would normally be censored is something I'd actually want to see?

I just don't get it, before it's release we were getting all the right signals, that cd projekt don't give a flying ♥♥♥♥ about the SJWs, so what the ♥♥♥♥ is the meaning of this ♥♥♥♥?

I will not trust CD Projekt again, this is a serious red flag.

Update: It's a common argument for people to say that this looks realistic, I have an easy counter for this, the world lore, hell, even on the character creation screen it says "looks are everything" in the society within this game, and technology is so far developed, that cosmetic surgery should be at a whole another level compared to today. Judging by the society and technology within the game, almost every woman should be as beautiful as Judy, or at least close to it, simply due to the importance of good looks to this society, and how easily available cosmetic enhancements should have become.

I don't think I can subscribe to conspiracy theories of CDPR making female characters purposely ugly to satisfy some nefarious plot by Worldwide Feminism Inc. I think this is down to them taking the easy way out and just giving us a pretty crappy and limited character creator.

I have to go through it again with the guys...but when I hit 'random' and changed to 'generic white skin tone'....all my male starting points looked kinda sorta the same. And by the end of editing up my guy....he didn't look that much different then when he started. Unless I really went weird with noses & eyes.

But 'generic caucasian male' seemed to be stuck with the same limited overall face and bone structure as the female I tried to put together. My big disappointment was the lack of body morphing. One single body type for males, one for females with just a small adjustment in boob sizes.

Character customization clearly wasn't a priority for them for the Single Player campaign. It's just a notch above 'hastily thrown together' in my book.

I fully expect them to go 'balls out' for the Online mode. It will be super-critical for them to slam dunk character customization for Online. They have 1.5 yrs to get it right. They'll hear the cries I'm sure.

Yeah.. character creation was rather not so great. Not too many choices and most of the choices are UGLY.. like freakishly ugly. Most of the NPC's in the game are UGLY. They are marginally better than grand theft auto 5 NPCs. Is this Mass Effect Andromeda again? lol. Go check out Black Desert Online character customization. It is still one of the best character customization and that game is many years old. Probably 30x more customization.. cheek bones, eye angle, upper lip height/width/depth, lower lip height/width/depth, and etc etc.

It's about Moronic Feminism and the Twinks crying about game companies making women into sex objects - it won't stop, But it will get worse.

I do find it funny how Feminists complain about being treated like sex objects, but just as quickly do the same to men with no negative reaction to it.

Overall, i personally like Judy so far, though her hairstyle is not that attractive.

It is a trend because it was handmade for the West, USA most specifically. Look at Valhalla female chars, TLOU2, old AC:ODY female twin etc.. In GTA 5 they trolled this kind of mentality with the female Online char model. To be honest they even predicted Trump with the Pisswasser and Patriotic adds in the Los Santos desert/GTA ingame radios. :DDD So they joined a big line, but it started a way back.

Btw Witcher 3 was casualized to the masses and it was given a brighter vibe and colours coz mainstream. So no, you are wrong nothing happened to CD Red this is how they are. Witcher 1 and 2 were the daring witcher games and they dared to experiment with the fighting system, Witcher 3 dumbed it down so new players or "casuals" dont cry etc..

I date back the time when all went down to hell (in global, not gaming) 2006-ish. 90s and 2000s spicy, dark, truthdaring subcultures were the best for me (like Billy&Mandys Grim Adventures were cancelled, original Samurai Jack I could go on), then it suddenly died and was replaced with SWJ etc..This happened to gaming in 2012-2013-ish. It is life I guess, it was a nice childhood for me even with all the hardships (2008 financial crisis) back then.

It's not a theory, it's blatantly obvious, it's something we've seen before with mass effect andromeda (another game which actually applied a patch post-launch that made all female characters uglier)

And they have provided all the irrefutable evidence themselves.

In the first minute, you see character creation, notice how default female V is pretty? Well that's no more, in fact it's impossible to recreate anything close to that beautiful in their character creator. Sure the original was no 10/10, but I would've been happy with that at least.

At around 8:35 you can also see (albeit wearing a thong) the player characters body, in particular take notice of the ass, it's a perfectly normal looking ass, unlike the one we have in-game now, which is saggy and ugly.

Starting from 12:35, when they go outside, this is where the difference really shows, you will see a lot of men and women in the streets (a lot more than in-game, but that change is understandable at least), however in the gameplay trailer a lot of those women are quite pretty (in fact MOST of them are), in the real game however... Not a single one of these strangers in the streets has an even passably good face.

I could point out more things, but I rest my case, my point's been made here... Although I'm too lazy to take screenshot comparisons of specific characters for you, if you watch it, and have recently played the game and were paying attention, you will see it too.

Yes I just noticed now, I've heard ♥♥♥♥ about them going woke but I wans't buying into it because actions speak louder than words; and everything I saw them doing seemed to be in a generally decent direction...
