Graphics settings don't affect FPS.
MSI 3080 RTX
I7-4930K (I know it's 6 years old and not brand new)
16 Gigs RAM
Installed on SSD, up to date, etc...

I've been reading up on people's experiences with the graphics settings. Now I don't mind not playing maxed out but for me the graphics settings do near-to nothing FPS-wise. Doesn't matter if I'm maxed out or on low, it is AT MOST a 3-5 FPS gain and a stability improvement which means it doesnt dip below 30 as often. I see a performance DROP on 1440p and will test 1080p as well. I also see a performance drop with some lowered settings and DLSS on Max Performance while on Quality I get a more stable frame rate.

Has anyone else been having this type of experience? Let me know.

i9900k+2070s+ssd+32 3200 ram = low graph or higth - no matters - lags lags and drops and LAGS AND DROPS FPS AND LAAAAAGS
peace os sht

Hi! I have the same issue, but on lovew hardware. Ryzen 2600 stock and 2060 super. Mine cant go over 60 fps in 1080 no matter the graphics settings, and the wierdest thing is: DLSS Literally doesnt change a thing. You can definitely see if its turned on max performance, but frame rate doesnt change at all. I played around with adaptive sync, i tried with a different monitor, nothing.

same here...I get max 10 fps at the main menu and during character customization , lol ...
I'll give it another chance until the next patch , if it still fails , refund....
did not wait 7 years for this piece of ♥♥♥♥...

Try changing "Crowd density" in "Gameplay" options. If it will work, you are probably CPU bottlenecked.
ShroomLord Dec 10, 2020 @ 10:35am
your cpu is bottlenecking, maybe get an overlay like afterburner to check what's happening
Naselus Dec 10, 2020 @ 10:37am
It's not the CPU bottlenecking.

I've seen a couple of other posts online having the exact same issue with no luck resolving.

I'm in a very similar boat. Game launches, 100+ FPS and then falls off a cliff to 15-17 FPS before the intro movie starts playing. Happens exactly the same no matter what resolution or graphics settings I've tried applying.

2700x, 48gb 3200mhz, 1080ti, everything on full water.

For me, I've noticed that the GPU doesn't want to move above it's base clock despite working normally in all other games. Cleaning and reinstalling old/new drivers has had no change for me.

If I run this under linux/proton with RX 580, I get 200+ FPS in the game menu and character creation, however all of the textures are missing.

I assume we'll be waiting for fixes.

Game is using lots of cpu cores of 5950x (16/32) Check last page for usage.

Also there is no way to turn OFF TXAA and it is sadly causing a lot of fps drops on 1000 series cards, and maybe 2000 3000 series also? Who knows.

"Cyberpunk2077.exe has lots of "TXAA" strings.
So I guess it's unswitchable TXAA that makes GTX 1060 6GB cap at 35fps @ 1440p (unless Resolution Scaling is used, or resolution is lowered)
Seems like TXAA puts a ton of load on pixel shader pipeline"

I am hoping someone find a way to disable TXAA. There are codes on config file but it is not working. https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/cd-projekt-red-announces-cyberpunk.363779/page-120#post-5864388 and https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/cd-projekt-red-announces-cyberpunk.363779/page-128#post-5865001

I just looked into this for another thread.

The game is heavily CPU bound, its hitting 15 of my 24 threads. 5 of them pretty hard.

Increasing resolution should help a bit if you've got a good GPU. The lower the resolution the less the game will be waiting on your GPU and the harder the game will hit your CPU and it will start to become a bottleneck.

its using 18 of my 24 threads and I can down clock to 2.2Ghz with my AMD 3900x with no issue
running low to high settings on 1080Ti @3840x1080 44-60FPS

Edit :- turning setting's up sure do hurt my GPU that is already under massive load and the game suffers in performance.

So it seems the in game options do work for me to adjust to my hardware.

card 2060 super ! set graphic medium/high 52-60 FPS ! easy run easy fight and easy play !

Look at the CPU usage here 10900k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rYWxAtE3V8
Update:

I've managed to get the game to run at MAX setting with frames between 45-60. They stabilize at around 48-51 for most of the game play. I found the problem on my part and maybe it will be a fixer for a few of you.

I had 4 sticks of RAM and somehow they were working as Single Channel instead of Quad-Channel and under-clocked heavily.

I started to fool around with the RAM and apparently one of my RAM sticks was acting up and disrupting everything. I took two of them out to test, worked fine with Dual Channel and have been fooling around with that.

The CPU does feel like it's the next problem because it's old and the PC can't use the full range of power on the GPU but I'm fine with that for the next few years.

The little things, like RAM is something people don't check very often and there's nowhere you can easily look to see if everything's working properly. I downloaded CPUZ and it was there that I noticed this problem.

Hope this helps a few of you that might be having similar problems.

i have a gtx 1050, yes, a bad actual graphics card but the game in 1080 and low runs 25 fps.
But in ultra settings with 1080 i have 20 fps....
