HDR not enabling on LG C9
I have an rtx 2070 with the newest drivers and I enabled the HDR option in windows settings to allow me to toggle the HDR settings in cyberpunk 2077. During starting cyberpunk 2077 I do not get the HDR enable symbol from the tv nor to I get any picture changes from cycling through HRD10 PQ and ScrgbHDR. This leads me to believe the HDR is broken for LG oled TVs, I came across a couple people with the same problems with the LG CX also. Looks like we need a driver update or rollback. I’ll troubleshoot more after sleep

I am using the LG CX and have no issues. Make sure HDR is enabled in Windows.

I am using the LG C9 with ScrgbHDR mode and have no issues. Check Ultra HD Deep Color mode on your LG TV. Enter Settings → Picture Settings → Additional Settings → HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color → switch On for HDMI port connected to PC.

LG CX. It's working perfectly for me. Very good HDR presentation apart from the heightened black levels.

Did you adjust the values? The default HDR settings are garbage. I set my max brightness to 1000, paper white to 500 and tone-mapping to 1.3 and it was significantly more noticeable. Low-light areas are still weird in this game, you seem to get stuck with either pitch black unplayable or washed out ugly grey

How is one even supposed to set the values you can change within hdr settings? I have no idea..

I set the TV brightness to 45, in-game peak brightness to 800, in-game paper white to 60, and in-game midpoint to 1.1.

Great, but i guess that's different to every monitor/tv and won't look good on every setup..i don't know how to set it, why isn't there some refference images or something to get an idea what it should look like, it's probably in all other games supporting hdr.

I was just messing with this today. Enabling HDR in Windows gave me odd issues so I turned it back off and the option was still there in the game, I enabled it and it worked fine.
This may only be possible in fullscreen, I don't know. I was also using a Samsung TV.

I will say though, it looked gorgeous and now I'm thinking of upgrading my monitor. 👀

Btw;

I use a samsung screen that has "HDR600", and it looks nice

- but i wonder what to make of all the settings and if i am doing it the optimal way. I am guessing the first "nits" setting in Cyberpunk should be set to 600'ish in my case since that is the max brightness of my HDR monitor?

But then what, paper white vs the third setting, what does what and is there something i should consider.

I am talking about the LG OLED specifically, which is what this thread is about. If you have a different display, then use different settings or make your own thread.

I have the CX65 and 2080 and had the same problems. I returned Cyberpunk 2077 because it was running poorly on my AMD 2700x & 2080. I spent about 7 hours just tweaking settings. Tweak, walk around, Tweak, drive around...etc. The best configuration was 1080p @ High Quality with RTX disabled entirely and DLSS on "performance". Indoor scenes were, meh in terms of framerate; outdoor scenes are game breaking, while driving any time I would move my mouse the game would dip to like 5-10 fps... from 40-50 fps. Everytime I would make a turn in the car and move the mouse, I would just end up crashing into a wall. This is the worst experience I have had with a game since the Atari E.T. game. I understand that AMD systems are not using all cores and only run properly on Intel chips. I've read that you have to hack your game to make it work for AMD and will get a 10-20% increase in framerate . CDPR had YEARS to work on this and the community fixed these problems in a few days after launch.

While I owned the game, these are the steps that worked for me.

1) Open Cyberpunk 2077 and change graphics to "fullscreen", do not do windowed

2) Changed Resolution to 1080p or 1440p @ 120hz in "Nvidia Control Panel". The 20X series connects to the TV via HDMI, but cannot do 2160p @ 120hz due to 20x series from having HDMI version 2.0b, while the 30X series has HDMI 2.1 (which supports 120hz 2160p). This is a preference for me ;I prefer 1080p @120hz vs 1440p or 2160p @ 60hz. The extra framerate is crucial for me as I get motion sickness @ 60hz. When selecting the resolution in Nvidia control panel, I had to scroll down to the "PC" resolutions for 120hz option ;the top section "Ultra HD, HD, SD" only has a maximum of 60hz.

3. Double check Windows HDR settings after you make any changes to resolution.

4. Double check G-Sync Settings in Nvidia Control Panel.

Good luck
