I'm running a GTX 1070 - mine crashes after the prologue thus far, but it does launch at least.

Same. love the stacktrace

Message: Gpu Crash for unknown reasons! Callstack here is probably irrelevant. Check if Breadcrumbs or Aftermath logged anything useful.

So if anyone has their GPU overclocked, try adjusting your OC. I did and I was able to play for about an hour without any crashing. Might be something might have just gotten lucky.

I use a 1070 armored with factory default OC settings and have yet to run into any serious issues with it? (Only actual issue is it blackscreening and crashing the drivers when using the mirror in the apt, but eh, it's not all that useful/important anyway.)

Try turning off motion blur and chromatic aberration? (I have both off since I dislike the effects) Also border-less windowed mode 1920x1080 res with fps capped at 60 and v sync on.

Thanks for not just claiming 'game bad!'. It's almost always some local setup problem that's causing people issues.
How do I know this? Well we have people at 60-ish fps with not issues on near full ultra graphics settings. That means game works.... there might be something conflicting on the problem-having people's end is all.

I can't even run a game, play button from built-in GOG launcher here throws an error. Can't even get into a main menu. Thanks for an advice anyways

Latest Nvidia drivers are causing crashing as i tested them and i cant use them cos the game just crashes constantly with driver crash.

Try turning off Steam overlay?

Do you have a windows paging file?
minimum size should be 4GB< RDR2 quit itself if you didn't have this.

Do yourself and PC a favour and don't let windows configure it for you

sysdm.cpl

If you cant fix it by any means try playing the game using Nvidia GeForce NOW

else if you are using a Ryzen CPU makes sure your RAM is tuned to it.
if your GPU is OC then remove the OC.
Clear your DX12 Cache
Stop all overlays and dont use the launcher (start the game directly from folder x64/bin)
make sure it is in administrator
