It's not that they're lazy, they had a bunch of multiple ui things that were bound to F. dialogue, interactions. Some of this stuff is hardcoded in the UI. Rebinding F in the config still shows a prompt to hit F for certain actions even though it's no longer the correct binding. They likely made a decision to deprioritize changing this behavior in favor of more significant game breaking bugs.
And yet for CDPR, "not being able to walk or shoot" doesn't seem game breaking to them.
Not me, and not lefties/handicapped/disabled. Just because config files are editable doesn't mean we "can" play. No we can't.
Dear Cy77 devs, please make all keys (incl. the F key) freely user-definable. Patch that keyboard options page.
Thanks.

For helping me with things I did not know regarding the binding of F key...
There are 2 config files you can edit, one for everything BUT F key. the other for F key, however, I believe you could edit all keys in the second file, just takes a bit longer IMO...
First File: your/user/appdata/cdpr/cyberpunk2077/ and ensure you properly edit the .txt file using the
"IK_w" IK_s" and so on, and change to "IK_YourKey method. then save.
Second File (for rebinding F as main interacting key): The F key can instead be rebinded in the input file in the steamapps/common/cyberpunk/r6/ InputUserMappings (file)
i got mine set to "IK_PageDown" there instead by replacing all occurrences of "IK_F" (with quotations so it doesn't replace the "IK_F1"/F2 and so on. JUST BE CAREFUL EDITING....
This is a complete Solution, I have personally edited and used everything stated above or below. If you have any issues please reach out, I am still active in helping resolve this problem.
- install_folder/r6/config/InputUserMappings.xml
- C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\UserSettings.json
After tweaking the files around a bit, finally changed it to a playable level. The different key bindings are hard to find, I would change some and as you play the game keep updating if you run into weird key bindings.
Hope this helps.
