~Outdated~

Hello guys, just started playing the game. Anyone else crashing after leaving the bar? (Street Kid).

Edit for new people joining the discussion:

For a lot of people, the game has been crashing some time after launching the game.

What we have gathered so far:

- Street kid: Crash upon leaving the bar.
- Corpo: Crash upon sitting on the chair.
- Nomad: Crash after finishing the cutscene when getting to Night City.

Graphics drivers don't seem to be the issue, as many people have tried updating with no luck.

Some people suggest an issue with old CPUs, not using AVX (I don't know what this means myself though).

Despite the issue with the potential lacking compatibility, some users have pointed out that this potentially could be fixed with a patch (this has apparently been done with other games).

Though it has also been reported that some users with newer CPUs also encounter this problem.

So far no "sure fire" fixes have been brought to light.

Clean installs also seem to not fix the problem.

Fixes from other threads that might work on your PC:

- Running CP2077 as admin.
- Disabling all overlays (Discord, Steam, GOG).
- For Windows 7 users, setting the compatibility settings to be compatible with Windows 7.
- Updating graphics drivers.
- Updating Windows.
- Running the game directly without RED Launcher. (Drive:\Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\Cyberpunk2077.exe).

Yup. I used intel processor diagnostics tool and theres 0 AVX support for the 980x as it was released in 2010. AVX happened in 2011. I was planning on upgrading soon anyway. I'd rather not have to spend £500 on new gear for one game to run correctly.

Crash here too with an i7-920....i know..no avx..BUT...Horizon zero dawn need avx too,so it cant be run..cant be start..and i was okay with that...but what kind of cpu feature is that i can run fine the game in closed space forever, then open space kill?:)

I had to enable AVX (I thought it was enabled, but evidently not). So far, I haven't had any crashes since I did it. On the off chance this helps anyone else:

bcdedit /set xsavedisable 0

Depending upon whether or not your setup supports it, plop that into command prompt. Dunno if that's useful to anyone, but it's worth a look. Good luck, folks.

Giving this a go now, thanks for the info anyway dude

I heard they removed AVX requirement a few weeks ago from Horizon Zero Dawn so there is hope for Cyberpunk yet.

Sympathize... I hope that CD Projekt Red will notice this and undertake to fix this ...

YOOOO WHY HASENT ANYONE THOUGHT OF THIS XD True

Anyone got any friends with it working to grab a save so we can test this out?

I'm using Intel X5675, crashing hard at the 3 places.

CDPR need to patch out the AVX requirement. Horizon Zero Dawn managed to do it.

Well I keep crashing at the same 3 points mentioned above but my cpu appears to support avx: i7-3930k. I'm not sure if that gives you all hope or despair.

I'll try to fix it. I will enter the game through Playkey, it allows you to play any game from your Steam account. I'll load Night City and save, then I'll go from my PC. Pray for me. I spent 80 rubles on this ($ 1) ahaha
I fixed my problem. Check nvidia drivers , you could download new drivers ,but forget to intal it

Adding even more mystery. Just checked and yes this CPU supports AVX. Strange.

Nah its probably a different problem my driver is up to date the problem people are having here is very specific with some processors that apparently lack AVX and crash at the same exact spots ingame.

A guy has made it work without AVX! He was talking about downloading SDE. I will find out more info and report back!
