WARNING This game may induce epilepsy seizures on a much higher scale than other games.
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2020/12/08/epilepsy-charity-ask-cyberpunk-2077-to-address-seizure-risks/

Yea and no need to state every game has a chance to induce epilepsy seizures, because this seems to be on a whole new level, and people completely unaware of their condition may be surprised by it. They've made a segment which mimicks a machine used by neurologists to induce seizures for diagnostic purposes, and that apparently may even induce it on people who never been aware of their epileptic problem. Before the white knights get all defensive on me, let me make it clear that i'm obviously not saying it's on purpose, as it makes no sense whatsoever and it actually hurts the game more than benefits, but it's a screw up on such a giant level that i'm very surprised to see a studio the size of CD fall for. Even lower level studios might actually have a better care on this. I know CD already announced they're working on the warnings and on the segment, but i hope this gets fixed before the release.

Oh, so, you mean to say like 99.98% people are completely safe.

Sounds like a light pattern thing is its the one test I'm thinking....might make playing the game with room lights off a bad idea it seems

But going to hunt for more info.
if you are thinking of the actually epilepsy test then you are correct

They closed the threads due to a mixture of some making gross comments about epileptics and others making stupid comments about how its some sort of "Attack"

Stop treating this like its some kind of conspiracy. They addressed it almost immediately, they are gonna work on it. Putting a warning up will be easy, and hopefully they will add a option to remove the offending section entirely.
This is something typical in gaming. I mean - they have warnings on a lot of games for that very reason. So it's not the big deal that it's made out to be. To an extent - you could probably tone down the brightness and colors if you're sensitive to such things.

From what i've read the actual real "seizure inducer" may actually provoke seizures on healthy people, or people who have never been diagnosed with it. It actually seems waaay more than the standard risk, and that's why i've been somewhat alarmed by it.
what you have read is utter BS Epilepsy is due to a disorder of the central nervous system, looking at a screen won't bring on the disorder.

only way you could get a seizure is if you already have epilepsy.

If the game could actually kill people, healthy people, it would not be releasing.. xD But as I said, death by video game, not the worst way to go I'd say.

Okay, I'm gonna report this too, we can't have a flame war on the forums. I agree, there needs to be an option for those suffering from epilepsy, I do, but starting a flame war on the forums is NOT the way to go about this. Threads that incite the community a day before release will not get this game delayed nor will it fix the problem at hand, if you can't make a polite reply on the forums, then please avoid making threads like these.

You do realize that you can have an undiagnosed medical issue, right?

I just edited my original post to cover this

Where have i been unpolite or where do i incite anyone to do anything? Yeah i may have been a bit harsh on the mods closing the threads, but i don't believe i've overstepped that much, i was just unaware of their motives for the closures.

Most I got was motion sickness from playing Skyrim and The Outer Worlds.

If I get to adjust FOV, it'll be ok.

But that's the standard warning every game has for legal purposes and that regular gamers no longer pay any attention (unless you're aware of your own condition).
If the game might actually be more dangerous than other games on this matter, i believe it is not enough. They did confirm to reform the seizure warnings and the specific problem itself, i just think their announcement on twitter might not be enough, and a different warning on steam should be issued, if that part is not fixed on release.

I'll put it this way people who definitely do not have epilepsy will not be affected in anyway by this game.

people with diagnosed epilepsy are at a risk and should not be playing cyberpunk.

people with undiagnosed epilepsy are at a risk as well but you can't avoid what you don't know and they could experience a seizure playing cyberpunk or playing something else.

I had a girl I went to school with experience a seizure just from watching something on youtube.
