is the steam version DRM free or just on gog?

its drm free on steam as well, you can copy the folder and just run the exe if you want without steam

Fairly sure there's no DRM on the game. Steam store page doesn't mention any DRM, and Steam's policy is to reveal this information on the store page.

Early reviews have a DRM software in it and it will get rid of the software on day 1.

All other CDPR games have not had DRM. make a shortcut to the EXE and play away without steam needing to launch.
