I do care. The problem is that society does not. When people want to look at the absurdly high level of suicide within this community and label it as the mental illness that it is, rather than celebrating it as "progress" and "bravery", these people can FINALLY get the REAL help that they need.
It's someone who doesn't identify as either a male or a female. Someone non-binary usually prefers "they/them" over "he/him" or "she/her."
Gender dysphoria is already considered a mental illness. They do get treatment from gender counselors and are often prescribed hormone therapy and eventually undergo transitional surgery.
"They/their/them" is one example of a non-binary pronoun, the most common one. There's other rarer ones, like "ze".
