We do use them to inform ourselves, but we don't take it as far as avoiding buying the game because some reviewers said they had bugs on their copies which don't even have the massive day one patch. You're supposed to use reviews to see whether it's a type of game you'd like, and have it support your decision. Not just blindly use them to decide "game good, game bad".
If I had done what you're doing now, I would have never played Days Gone after those mixed to bad reviews it got. Yet I watched the reviews, saw "okay so they're saying the story might be kind of all over the place with a boring start, And that you don't really fight hordes of zombies until endgame? No problem, still looks like a game for me" And it became my favorite zombie game next to Dying Light.
Do your OWN research. Most of those online reviewers are people like you. They don't get to decide what you would enjoy. You give them way too much power. Is it okay to listen to reviews and have it weigh onto your decisions? Sure. But you're just blindly jumping the gun before the game is even out, and then making threads like this. For what, attention? That's why so many people are put off by you OP.
Rather sad this post is weak
Bro you must be one sad person. Those "Professional" people write reviews from their own opinions, everyone likes their own types of games, and those "professionals" probably didn't like it. You're a big boy, use your tiny brain and give your own opinion instead of going by others opinions.
What world are you from?
Ah forgot he's a 'GAMER'.
I never use reviews, you want to know why? Its because I would rather make choices of my own and not have someone else tell me what the problem is etc. Or how good it is or if their is bugs and what not. I'll say it again you should be making your own choices instead of following what others say.
Also 91 review score is not weak as you say.
The meaning of education is that exact opposite of that. What you're describing is studying. At the very least take that away from this.
From the sources i trust the verdict is slightly weak yet far from bad. I mean fair enough if you want to try everything for yourself, that is the best way ideally. But don't you find you waste an awful lot of money on things that you don't like. Or in the case of digital games possible miss out on greats that don't 'pop' till past the 2 hour mark?
Most people would wait till the game has been released and see how gamers as a whole review the game and compare it to these "professional" reviewers you think sooo highly of. Plus people like to use their own heads to know what they enjoy and do not enjoy.
I am buying it day one as it looks to be a great game. I do not care about "masterpieces" as you do. I love games that gives you freedom in game play as most games do miss this mark.
