Pre-Install

So I pre-ordered this game cuz I'm hyped asf for it.

Just wondering though, does anyone know if you pre-order this game or pre-order any game in general on Steam, does it pre-install on your PC before its release day?

To get a better idea as to what I'm asking, I had pre-ordered State of Decay 2, and a week before its release, it pre-installed on my Xbox so I wouldn't have to wait for it to download when it became available to play.

So I'm wondering if this will be the same scenario for this game.

It all depends on the developer, big games like this usually always have a preload, sometimes it can be a week before launch, but usually it's at least 3 or so days before in my experience. You also have to manually preload the game, it won't do it automatically.

When you preload a game it will still have to unpack at the time of release which is a lot slower on a regular Hard drive than on an SSD. For people with very fast internet it can be faster to download the game at release than to preload, but that all depends on how fast the persons internet is and how big the game is.

depends, witcher 3 had it, witcher 2 maybe, dont remenber now , others games had it too, if it happen will be like in the last 24h before release

I would be shocked if the game didn't have a pre-load before launch even smaller indie companies can do it these days.
