New Iteration, New Rules

Hi everyone! =] As stated on other threads I am thinking about making a new iteration of Endless RPG. All with new rules from the ground up. I used Game Maker 1.4 in this current version and I moved on to Game Maker 2. I don't plan to use anything from this version of Endless RPG. Some parts I will not even be able to (like animations). That said, I would like your opinions about rules and the mindset that will guide all the development. SMALL NUMBERS: I was heavily inspired by XCOM and I prefer number...

Why is everything so small on my screen?

Hi. Played this game before and would like to return, but now for some reason all the menu options and character sprites when making a party etc. are all cramped up on the top left corner of my screen and very small. Windowed mode doesn't help and neither do compatability options it seems. Any idea how I can play this comfortably again?...

Does this game get too hard too soon?

I played from a new world a couple times but the enemy keeps building bases while im still barely into the game. is there a trick to get yourself strong to manage the spawn that seems to increase exponentially? is it a race against time?

Block and Dodge independent?

If a hero has B% to block and D% to dodge, what happens if attacked: - there are two dice rolls, one for block and one for dodge. Seems most fair: one can block and dodge in parallel IRL :-); - the max(B, D) wins and there's only one roll (for block or dodge). Motivation: Asking to clarify if it makes sense to build a "mixed" character of (blocking, dodging) or one should have focus on only one of the feat....
