Is this part of the game or a bug? My thrusters keep breaking even when not fighting.

My ship sometimes seems to go up in altitude and then comes back down a moment later for no obvious reason.Can this be fixed?

At the moment I just open the menu at the top and click the icon to move camera to ship but would like a button to do it instead please.
