Decrease resolution scale. Quick keys to adjust it: -/= on the main part of kb.

And yes, that's normal at this resolution. 2080Ti @4K would have about 20 fps, 4070Ti about 45 fps.

i suggest dynamic upscaler. even a 1660 ti 6gb can run rtx on with it XD

With basically max settings, no upscaling/dynamic resolution I get around 28-30FPS at 4K on my 3070FE. It is a GPU much more suited to 1440p than 4K - with upscaling it can sit at 70-80FPS at 1440p with minimal quality loss.

seems normal to me

It's not just raytraced its fully path traced, you will need some degree dynamic resolution enabled. You can also turn the bounce paths down too.

Only two 4090 combine can handle stable 4K 60 fps+

I run 1440p, two systems. One has RTX 3070, gets about 50 - 60 fps, no upscaling. One has RTX 3080 10 GB, gets about 85 - 95 fps no upscaling. All effects maxed out on both.

You right 3090 SLI can handle stable 4K 60
But only one 4090 has stable 70-80 fps https://youtu.be/h6O790zWSek?si=OwZtxtZdIz4hZqm0

3070 isn't a 4K card so that's part of the issue.

Ill say this once and take from it what you will. Nvidia made this mod to get you to buy their new 40 series cards. They made the mod so power hungry to make you feel like you need an upgrade. Wake up people. Nvidia is screwing with you guys. Stop buying their stuff for a few generations, they will get the message.

3000 series and 4000 series weren't even a thing when this came out.

But yeah they paid engineers to make a cool thing to play on their cool stuff? Oh no...

1. Q2RTX was released during RTX 20 series time, it has nothing to do with 40 series.
2. "Made the mod power hungry" - it's open-sourced, you're free to modify them to make it run faster. So far noone found anything deliberately slowing it down.
3. Originally it was a q2vkpt project made by independent dev: https://brechpunkt.de/q2vkpt/
Nvidia took it under their wing and polished to make a proper full-fledged port that single developer would not have resources to.
4. Of course it was to promo their cards but they didn't make it exclusive and after Vulkan API introduced vendor-independent RT extensions Q2RTX was updated to use them. You can have a modern AMD or Intel Arc card and play this game.
