Do you even know what Raytracing is?

No ofc not. And I dont know what DSL 2.0 is.

There is no perfect perfect RTX GPU for a moment.
All of them to weak to perform 4K 60fps with all settings no matter how expensive PC set you have.
Even if you have two 2080 TI in SLI mode - 45-50 fps is maximum what you can have.

Real time raytracing is expensive stuff, time ago it was only for long time renderings.

1080p, I typically push good frames. 2k, and I start to struggle a bit. Honestly, the game was made HOW long ago and what was the FPS average then? It's pretty much about the same now, but with a new Ray tracing system.

What do you expect? RTX tanks the performance.

Yes, it brute-forces everything with RT. It's a tech demo. You can play the entire game if you'd like, but the focus is on RT.

Nvidia didn't create it it existed before they slapped a label on it.
Eh? If you're referring to Q2VKPT, Nvidia has never hid that Q2RTX is derived from that. Q2RTX has a lot of improvements though. If you're referring to the older quake2-pt by Edd Biddulph, that was also very limited compared to Q2RTX, and didn't support hardware RT.

I wouldn't say it bruteforces everything. It uses quite clever algorythms for denoising.

It does brute force everything with RTX in that 99% of what is rendered is coming through via RTX. F off with the condescending links.

Yeah, no, Nvidia has been completely open about this. Q2RTX is 100% open source - you can download and look at/modify the code right now if you had the desire and the skill. I have to echo the previous poster.

"Brute forcing" is the nature of ray tracing in a sence, but it's excactly denoising which allowed Q2RTX to look like an actual game. Look at q2pt videos and compare:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl-mn97X33k
Now that's bruteforcing.

And posting educational links is not condescending, it's explanation especially useful for ignorant people.

Come down from there boy.
squiri perfect-rust Apr 15, 2020 @ 11:21pm
bruh my laptop with 1660 Ti can have 45 fps tho ( at 1600x900* and global illumination set to low )
rckrz6 Apr 17, 2020 @ 7:03pm
The game is full blown path tracing, its a tech demo and super demanding

It's not Path Tracing anymore man... it's full ray tracing

You don't know what you're talking about. This game uses path tracing.
