You must have full Quake 2 game for that. Run Quake2RTX-Steam-Setup.exe in "setup" folder and point it to exising Quake 2 installed path.

i got quake 2. when i installed the rtx version it did all outomaticly

It doesn't do it automatically. It asks for you to choose the demo version or the full version if available. You probably wasn't paying attention and picked the demo only.

no. i installed the the secend game, then installed the RTX. it didnt asked me, it just did. guessn eed redownload. thats all

Well I installed Quake 2 RTX twice and both times it shows up a window asking me to pick between Quake 2 demo or Quake 2 full... with empty boxes next to it for me to select one.

You just have it installed in a way it can't find automatically. That's all there is to it.

No I don't. It's all on default location in the same drive as the rest of the Steam library inside the Steam folder... All standard. I also have Quake 2 full installed.... all in the same default locations of Steam... \Steam\steamapps\common\ etc etc
