Freezes on chapter 12 on steam deck (proton 8.0-5) (Solved)
It happens as the ship is flying in with the golden guy on board, it grinds to a halt and i need to power off the deck as I cant do anything else.

Anyone else have this issue or have a fix ?

I have already tried proton experimental

I figured out using proton 6.3-8 allowed me to progress. Hopefully this helps someone else.

Thank you! For me it didn't crash but it was at less than 1 FPS. I spent 20 minutes trying to get to the hatch of the Milano on hopes it would return to normal once off the ship. Then found this thread and that version of Proton fixed it.

ok so for those who don't know how to do this you need to do the following

1 go to desktop mode from the steam deck menu under the power section
2 locate the discover store in the kde desktop
3 search for protonup-qt and install it
4 launch proton-qt and install the desired version
5 switch back to game mode
6 locate the game in steam and click the gear icon to change the proton version the game should uses to the version you installed previously
7 play the game
5 go to the game and click the gear icon andchan

Try a different version on proton qt. it should have an option to show older versions or something.
