How can this game still have Denuvo ? I periodically check for its removal and then I'll buy. Steam is already DRM, I don't need 3rd party DRM chewing up my computer's resources. I will not be treated like a thief.

It's because companies don't wan't you to own your games like this. You could try running hex editors or programs intended to remove drm ( which I only recommend if you back up the exe files and know what your doing.)

Personally I got this on Epic games for free and got the game on discount on steam. I think there was a steam drm remover tool but, I forget what it's called.

Digital Rights Management was never a means to stop piracy it was always a way to take control away from customer and give full control of the product to the company. It's literally in the definition.

"Digital rights management (DRM) is a technology that controls access to copyrighted material and allows copyright holders to manage how users can interact with their content."

It's been this way since music CDs where a thing. My friend wants to borrow my CD but I want to listen to it I would just burn him a copy. He was never going to buy the CD and he might not even like it and just return it to me. But Companies say they lose millions of $ because of piracy even though pirates were never going to buy the product in the first place.

Modern take is I have Netflix and none of my family or friends have it. They don't want it but when they come to my house I put on and let them watch all the new Netflix movies for free. Netflix doesn't lose millions of $ because even if I don't have it no one I know is going to buy it either.

Companies just lie and find a way to take control of the product you purchase so in the end you never really own anything and they have full control of when where and how you use said product.

No internet, can't use it. Outside the country, can't use it. Signing in on a different IP, can't use it. Changed you PC hardware, can't use it.

People that defend DRM are ...... well we know what they are.

It's not their fault. People are injured or killed every day despite not expecting it. So many people will not expect DRM to be an issue for them because "it never has been". Human nature, we tend to believe our own lived experiences to date over reports of things we have never noticed.

I only bought this game because I found it extremely cheap and I thought it would run on my laptop. Here in Brazil we don't have many games dubbed in our language, this game ends up being one of the best because the same voice actors from the movies are here in the game, it was fantastic. Regarding DRM, I'm sad that this is such a serious problem, I had no idea this was present in the game, I would love to have a custom skin, like carl johnson.
