- Made by exact same guy who did Securom.
- Acts exactly the same.
- "Not that bad."
Really? It even has same activation limit issue.Denuvo has both activation limit problems(rules differ on per-game basis) and deactivating in the least desirable moment. It's just that Denuvo maker doesn't set them as strict as before. On the other hand Denuvo cause problems with game's performance and stability. And sometimes developer set insanely strict settings there. Like it was with Batman: Arkham Knight.
As for deactivation - you seemingly never used Denuvo games without internet connection. It doesn't work as advertized.
How do you know, that stability and performance have remained exactly the same?
I can't say for all games, but Batman: AK had horrible problems with Denuvo. Yes, it was not only bad outsourced port, but Denuvo as well.
I've tested performance with and without Denuvo myself. And difference is quite noticeable. If you've been following narrative of Denuvo shills you might've heard how they now say "it's not Denuvo, but Denuvo's implementation by game's developers". So basically even Denuvo itself admits obvious performance problems caused by VM based copy-protection.
As for testing - it's important to test properly. If you're measuring it "by the eye", using vsync while testing, etc - no wonder if you won't see the difference. If you use a powerful CPU you won't notice the difference.
If you personally doesn't see it - doesn't mean there is no problem. A guy who doesn't know what smooth 60 fps looks like might also be completely satisfied with choppy 30+ frames per second. That's how "Denuvo doesn't cause performance problems" thing works. Dispute it has been proved long time ago that it does.
