The designs here are far more source-accurate than the ones in the movie, but if it bothers you that much, there are costumes you can acquire in-game (for free) to make them look like the movie.

I consider that to be a good thing. The MCU is an adaption, not source material. Also personally I hate the MCU interpretation of the Guardians of the Galaxy so I am happy this game did its own thing. I feel the same with adaptations I like. As much as I love Henry Cavil as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman I don't want the comics, cartoons, and video game versions looking just like the actors.

A reminder that a lot of this generation don't realise Marvel is originally a comic book franchise, not a film one.

because developers dont be allowed to use actors avatars, it is too hard to build actors model in game engine, they should be in special costume, and move, when you see in cutscene persons move, in real life in costume persone make same move like in cutscene, they wearing this costume for a long time, i dont think origonal actor agree to wear this costume, i really wanted to see original actors avatar in game, but in this game characters designed wery well

Sorry to say mate, but that's mostly wrong. As proven by the fact that you can literally get costumes that look like the movie actors in game, you just have to find them. The only issue is that they didn't want to make a game based on the movie characters and what you have are actually closer to the original source than the movie look was, and that's what the developers wanted.

If we're being honest,the real reason is because they wanted the characters to look and feel more like the comic book versions. I'm glad they didn't try to go for emulating the MCU actors because then they would have looked and sounded weird (even with the actors lending talent).

Licensing the likeness of such huge movie stars would have also cost so much that the budget wouldn't have been enough for more than a few hours of game after that.

There aren't many video game companies in the world which could afford to simultaneously hire the entire main cast of an MCU movie, even if the actors weren't tied up in their movie projects.

TBH I think the designs look better than the movie versions.

The game even pokes fun at this in the unlockable movie outfit descriptions, like with gamora's more skimpy leather or Groot's skinnier-looking design.


Also... you CAN unlock the movie outfits.
