Yea, unfortunately. Hopefully the developers will fix it.. because the game itself is great!
I haven't really seen many stutters. Only time I've had an issue was during cut-scene transitions.

It is demanding, and I'll consider the visuals are great, but not the most amazing, so I'm assuming it isn't that properly optimized.

It stutters for every action you do for the first time, also many other stutters.

You don't mention your settings.
You can't even max everything out for the 3080 series though, but that's because games are now being pushed out with hardware in mind that will come out over the next couple years. Ray tracing is still an absolute performance hit.
Which isn't bad by itself, but devs tend to not mention it when they show previews, which is a problem, because it gives a false impression of how the game will be experienced.

ok, of course.

I9 10900k stock
32gb ddr4 3800mhz 16-20-20-40
1tb samsung nvme
2080 ti

my settings are 4k dlss quality no ray tracing. also tried balanced but same stutters.. dropped to 1080p and you guessed it... still stutters.

stutters are real. like some other games it could be a dx12 "feature".

However, 1080p @ 3070 oc is still stuttering frequently while maintaining stable fps.
no vram limit or anything.

I had to set my 165hz monitor to 60hz to have a smooth experience frame times are all over the place

Once you've launched the game and are a the main menu, try alt-tabbing out, and opening task manager. From there, click the DETAILS tab, find the GOTG exe file, right click and select SET PRIORITY. Click Real-time. It may not allow you to prioritze real-time (some setups won't do it) but it should default to HIGH.

This may help your stuttering issue. I haven't needed to do this, as it seems to run incredibly well on AMD GPUs, but I've seen this solution for Nvidia cards in multiple reddit threads and forums.

Worth a shot.

I'm seeing exactly this. If something is going to fall down, or -- where it's especially obvious -- if Peter is going to crawl through a narrow space, there's a stutter before that moment. So it looks like the stutter is because the game is loading something, not because it's struggling with rendering the scene.

Agreed. I'm pushing maximum in everything except RT (which is set to 1 step lower at HIGH) at 1440p with a Radeon 6800, getting 75fps avg all day. I've had one or two crashes in 40hrs (2 play throughs) and I think that is totally acceptable.

Don't know why some Nvidia owners are having issues... Even a friend of mine with a 3070 was having trouble launching the game before updating to the very latest drivers though. All good now.

Yup, the game runs terribly on my 3080ti too. I love games from Eidos but it's clear they don't know how to make good PC ports. Even going back to the Human Revolution days.

I would bet money that Denuvo is the culprit.

Nah I believe them. There are just too many variables, resulting in similar builds having different performance. The OP's rig is higher spec than mine (i7-10100, rtx3070, 32GB) and it runs smooth, no noticeable stutter with high settings at 1080, with latest driver.

There's something going on that's tanking some systems but not others, don't know if it's the card, or background software, or what. But hopefully it gets sorted, because I don't normally go for linear games like this but am having a blast and it stinks that others can't.
