Boring?
I played for 30 minutes at the start and just could not get into it I'm afraid! Does it get better later or something? Can't shake the feeling that these replacement characters are no match for the movie versions like Starlord etc.

No, not boring. The characters are not what I expected at first, due to the voices being different, but it wasn't long before I settled comfortably into the difference, and the characters and the game quickly made up for any differences with an interesting story and that witty banter that was so prevalent in the first movie that I loved.

Not everyone loves the same games though. Maybe try something else, and if you come back to this one later, maybe it's like some of the games I've played where I wasn't quite in the right mood at the time to fully enjoy..

StarLord is my least favorite, I like the Telltale version of GOTG as a team better than this one. Gameplay could've been better and some character designs, but overall game environments look shiny and pretty.

But you don't have the game.

There are other platforms you can get this game, right?

Yes but he has specifically said he didn't buy the game yet. Gameplay experience is subjective so it's weird he's saying "gameplay could have been better" when he hasn't experienced it.

Weird that gameplay has to be experienced specifically by someone in order to have an opinion on something. I pointed out what IMO is a negative and a positive to the game, and you only followed me here to point out something I said that was a negative.

It's not weird at all, it's like someone having an opinion of a song they've never heard, or a book they've never read. Doesn't make sense to view a general consensus as "weird" just because you want a game to be viewed as a flop so bad :steamfacepalm:

If you go into expecting the same exact experience as the MCU movies, you may be disappointed. This is a very different experience, a different take. You should play it til the end, maybe you won't like it or maybe you'll love it but either way, you'll be able to give a more validated outlook on if you enjoyed it or not.

So I shouldn't be able to form an opinion on something I like & don't like about the game based on photos, videos, reviews, articles, play-throughs? Basic research of something before you purchase it is pretty common and isn't weird at all.

It is strange to act as if that legitimises your opinion to be the same level as someone who's actually played it or experienced it first hand. Personally, I prefer not to be a muppet/sheep and try for myself, to be my own persob and not controlled. Reviews are just opinions after all and no more validated than my own. Also, everyone has different tastes and interests.

Aside from that, if you have any remote imterest in a game, you'll avoid playthroughs to avoid spoilers.

Hands-on experience does not legitimize your own opinion versus my own just because i may not own the game. You have an opinion on character design just like i do, but by your logic neither of our opinions would matter since we have no hands-on experience in game character design itself. And yes, your's would not be relevant over my own just because you bought the game & played it yourself versus me looking at screenshots or video's of the exact (EXACT) same content.

Yes, in fact it does. And I never said you had to own the game so don't twist my words (like you always do) in order to try to 1up me in petty argument.

I don't care if you own the game, rent it, borrow it or get it free, play it before talking crap and people will take you more seriously.

Opinion on art style is different from a first hand experience, you're mixing up variables here, purposely to confuse readers. We're not talking art style here or character design.

Lastly,
Same content doesn't equal similar experience lol

Did you purposefully play with fire in order to form your own opinion on whether it's hot & will burn you just to have a hands on experience...or did you listen to other people telling you what their experience or knowledge was from it? Same would apply for the video game aspect of what we're discussing here or really anything in life for that matter. Not owning a specific video game & still having an opinion on the matter is perfectly fine, its you & specific other people that have a problem with it.

If I were to say nothing but positive things about it & still didn't own the game, would you be here chastising myself & telling me my happy words hold no merit or meaning until i own it?

You're not being truthful here. There are a few threads with people who own the game and didn't enjoy it and I'm fine with that but you're twisting things and accusing me again. Go figure, right?

And sure, having an opinion if fine, never once said or implied it wasn't. Just said that those who have actually played the game are more validated which is true.
