(SPOILERS) Ending
I finished the game and clocked in 15 hours. 14 hours and 30 minuets of the game's story was amazing and honestly felt like GOTY material, but the ending just felt bad. Just gets pulled at the end that Nikki isn't your daughter, which was a huge motivation for Peter and felt like that could be a cool dynamic, and then they also changed Nikki at the end. When she gets rescued she has some weird hair and outfit and has superpowers. She went from being a nerdy tech wizard to just generic superhero.

I really felt if they kept Nikki being Peter's daughter and kept her looking/acting the same as the begging of the game, that would be super cool. Rocket and her would be able to be friends over tech stuff, Peter gets to be an actual dad, etc.

Idk, to me it felt super disappointing. Felt like Peter being her real dad would be cool due to non-pure Krees being illegal and him having to take that responsibility would be a great end to his character arc.

Nikki isn't Kree though. They talk about how Nikki isn't even Kor El's daughter, she was adopted

There are a few clues in her room (Nikki's) that explain the "twist" relatively early on 1. Nikki uses hair dye, which is even commented on as being illegal amongst the Kree 2. Nikki's ID being flagged by the Kree Purity Council or whatever, and they'll be checking up on her.

There is a third hint as to Nikki not being Kree later on, I think on Sacrosanct, but I can't recall it at the moment.

I still think though that Peter wrestling with the idea that he could be a dad only to learn that he isn't, well, it still works, because he still feels responsible for Nikki, regardless of parentage

OP, you should edit your post to have spoiler tags, those turn the text into these.

As to what comes to Nikki's transformation, she was holding an eternity stone and channeling pure faith energy with it, this transformed or awakened her into a cosmic level superbeing. Her fiery hair might be the result of this transformation, or it could be the power was inside her all along and the stone & faith energy just unlocked it. We know that she is an orphan, so her true parents or at least one of them might be almost any of the cosmic characters which exist in the Marvel universe.

Fire hair is a trait of Phoenix hosts and some heirs of Galactus, for example.

I enjoyed the ending, it was good and I like the way they did it as a joke to the mid & post credit scenes in Marvel movies.

There are hints that she already had latent powers by being a Mercurian, (her innate technological knowledge being the first big clue) and that her exposure to the soul stone may have awoken them, rather than "given" to her (like in cpt. marvel's movie)

Oh right, I forgot Nikki Gold from the comic books, this is a version of her. She is indeed a half Mercurian in this game at least, and gets the flaming hair awakened by the stone. Then she just uses the enormous amount of faith energy stored in her with the Soul Stone.

it' s a good end for me. Proof Korel is not a stupid woman who follows rules like a robot like her personality can show most of the time and also Peter is a big kid so having nikky who had exactly the same childhood than him can do a friend/father/daughter relationship. Anyway i m ok for a second opus.
