Game crashing at random.
Hi all, I'm having a bit of an issue where the game will just crash to desktop without any error. This can happen after 1 second of play or 30 minutes of play. I have a 3080 and 9900k so within spec, my temps are all fine and drivers are all up to date. This is the only game I have had issues with for a long time. I have tried turning off my overclocks and also overvolting my system to see if that could have been the issue but it still happens. I am on Windows 11 also.

Anybody else having this issue?

Hey Mark! i was running into the same issues! From what i read from the other discussions threads, I recommend you to disable raytracing and DLSS. I did that and my game seem to be running fine. I hope this helps bro!

I only disabled ray tracing and not DLSS and I have not had any crashes.

Disabling ray tracing solved my problem.

That's really weird because I have a 3080 and i9 9900k also and have had no problems with raytracing on. I wonder if it could have been Win 11?

When it comes to PC gaming it could be anything. It could randomly be my fan control software conflicting with something somewhere or anything at all but turning ray tracing off works so going to stop stressing and enjoy the game now :)

Ray tracing off worked for me as well with a 10850K and a 3080. I hope they fix that though because ray tracing looked great on this game.

This is odd. I have basically the same specs, and I have raytracing enabled to maximum settings and haven't had a single crash.

Game installed on my m.2 NVME drive

For me the game crashed a lot, randomly. It was unplayable. But, I think that I 've found a work-around:

In your Steam Library, right click the Guardians of the Galaxy. Choose "Browse Local Files". Find the "bin" folder and open it. Find the "gotg.exe" file, right click it and run it as administrator.

From that moment, I am playing the game with everything Ray Tracing-related on, without any crashes. RTX 2080 Ti user here.

Hope this works for you too, guys

Good.
Crashes FIXED for me when I did run as administrator.
RT (ultra) / DLSS (quality) are ON.
All others settings are ultra/max.
Playing well (3840x1600) in ultra-wide with hack for cut-scenes.
3080TI / 10900K / windows 11 / latest drivers

Game runs smooth with disabled RT

I'll try the admin trick later and report back.

Running as admin doesn't help. Still have these random crashes with ray tracing on. RTX 3090 + 10900k, Windows 11

Same here, ran as admin and played for around 15 minutes then crashed. This is also with the patch installed.
