CAN'T EVEN START THIS GAME

so I got

INTEL CORE I7-6700 CPU
NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 1070

and for some reason it always CRASH whenever I press the play button I ALREADY UPDATED MY DRIVER ON THE LATEST VERSION! there is no error shown whenever it crash it just doesn't start

same issue with i910900k OC and rtx3080 , any chance you OC'ed your CPU ?

nope, im trying to reinstall this and see if it will works. Its just annoying that I need to reinstall this game even though I haven't played it

Same issue here ...Running AMD Ryzen 9 3950X with 6700XT , downgraded drivers and downloaded last patch through steam. What gives the game just opens and hit play comes up for a few seconds then back to desktop.

ok I uninstalled and reinstalled and it works great now, I had a power outage and picked up the download so i guess that was a problem ...Really Windy here

In the nvidia control panel i have changed the desktop size and resolution and checked the no scaling option, before.

Now i have updated steam and deactivated the shader-pre-caching, and deleted a custom steam.cfg file which forces steam-offline-mode at start per default, and re-installed the game !

And now it works !!!

CLEAN install? or express? If you haven't done a clean install of the drivers, do try that.
Third party overlay? Things like Riva tuner and such can actually stop games from working too. So try turning anything like that off or anything else that hooks the game. Even try disabling the NVidia one if all else fails.

Have you tried the windowed or borderless windowed mode ?

maybe exclusive fullscreen mode can help, even trying to verify game cache files. See if you have any windows updates and please for the love of god don't switch to windows 11 as it may come with issues relating to compatibility and stuff

On win 11 on both my systems.. only compat problem I faced was it hated my CPU oc on the desktop and had to disable that.
All else aside, most major drivers have been prepared and updated for the OS already. It runs surprisingly well. A far better transition than the last 3 windows.
But thats not to say it'll be the same for everyone..
