If it ''sold a lot'' it would have rushed single-player, but more tacky co-op or multiplayer features. Or they would have added grind mechanics to prolong the time of the game, add micro-transactions etc.
The game has great reviews from both critics and users alike. Look at the Steam user score, does that look like something a garbage game gets?
The game sold less than Marvel's Avengers due to the much smaller markering budget, because it's a singleplayer game, and the huge amount of negativity the Marvel's Avengers game got.
Exactly...one character out of an entire team. Like playing a Madden game where you only get to play as the teams QB, waste of a good game IP that could've been done by someone else way better then SE.

...and GotG. All just from 2020, up to today, raise serious discussions everywhere it seems lately.
Guardians Of The Galaxy, Nier Replicant and all the other games Obsidian mentioned have all recieved raving reviews but the pc ports are flawed.
I think Forespoken will be as great as it looks. It definitely looks unlike anything else and might be a good contrast to Horizon series.
SE has published plenty of bad games though, but that happens to all big video game publishers over time.
The games they actually develop themselves tend to be of high quality, but both their published and developed games tend to have flawed PC ports just as you pointed out.
A game making money does not make it good in any way shape or form.
What kind of logic is this?
It sure as held did not make a fraction of what Vangaurd made and that games objectively a bad game.
Cyberpunk made money and is objectively a bad unfinished mess.
A game making money does not make it good tf...
This was more about succesful games, a game can be bad and still successful just like Cyberpunk proved.
Marvel's Avengers was successful too(second biggest launch of a superhero game ever), just not as successful as Square Enix had wished. It also suffered from an early release and plethora of bugs despite not being as broken as Cyberpunk was. And it does have some bad game mechanics, though a lot work has gone into improving that and still continues to be made.
The thing to consider about superhero games is that only one of them has gone mainstream like the usual AAA shooters and action games; the Spider-Man 2018 Playstation game. All the rest have sold much more modest numbers, just like MA and GotG. And consoles are where the largest playerbase for this genre is.
