The scene where you have to rescue the team from sinking in the red goo, WTF?

There's a scene where Rocket is about to die from drowning. The computer shows you the mouse button and the up, down, left, right arrow keys and gives absolutely zero explanation of what you're supposed to do. On top of that a failure results in watching the 45 second cutscene.

WTF are you supposed to do here? I'm banging on keys and rotating the mouse like crazy and there's no instruction.

Go to options and shut off Quick Time Events. The game plays so much better without them.

On controller, it shows both sticks and you're supposed to move them both into the circle. It wasn't exactly clear there either.

Thanks to both, I'll see if the suggestion works on PC and then I'll disable if it doesn't work!

ya you have to use the wasd keys to move the left arrow into the circle while at same time using mouse to move the right one into the circle. once both are in circle hit middle mouse key to fire special weapon shot. it took me several tries till i got it.

I tried toughing it out through these events, but the lack of instruction combined with a full reload time when you fail just made me give up on them.

It was some very frustrating unfun stuff that made it harder getting to the fun stuff. Thankfully there's an option for it.

It worked, having said that, a pretty useless feature.

Also wondering if my interactions with the team will have any considerable effect that actually impacts the game at the end.

you need to use your mouse and keyboard at the same time and get both circles into the large one then push middle mouse button after it turn green. I also failed it on first attempt but mainly because I was confused what to do.

don't have this issue using a controller but it wasn't very clear the first time it showed up tho, they should put a tutorial message or something before throwing that in our face.

Huh i wondered what that was about. My game crashed just after, didn't realise it was a QTE as i turned em off haha.

I am so glad for this thread! I figured out that quicktime event after like 6 tries and 2 minutes of loading each attempt. But, I totally missed the option to turn off the QTE all together. Best feature ever!

These events are just dumb game design, so glad I could turn them off or I would’ve quit the game out of annoyance.
