Xbox One Gamepad does not work

Somehow my Xbox One Gamepad does not work in Guardians.
I saw the problems with the A and B Stuff but found nothing about a non working Gamepad.
It works perfectly in all other games but in Guardians it does not work and i don´t know why.

Anyway i have the Epic Store Version but that should not be the problem.

Edit: for any wonder why i´m writing here. Epic still has no forum or else.

Same problem here..... It always changes the layout to Nintendo Switch Controller.

Well this does it not for me.
Layout in the Gamepad Options is allways Xbox One Pad but no button is working.

This has been covered extensively in another thread. Go to steams controller settings check enable xbox configuration.

You can add a non-steam game and use the steam controller configuration since you own it on Epic

Im using Epic Games launcher, not Steam.

Well the problem now is, this does not work, cause i can´t start the game that way.
I get an error message that the installfiles are broken, but if i start it than out of epic, it works withoug problems.

So seems like i need another work around.

Im using Epic Games launcher, not Steam.

You are right I did not read to the bottom.

With EGS you will probably have to wait for a controller ID patch or try some manual configuration. Since by enableing xbox config in steam, I think we are basically just telling steam to treat our xbox one controllers as an old known xbox controller which the game handles better.

You can find the solution for epic games on the epic games forums. Oh wait, there are no forums, there are no gamepad settings, there are not a bunch of functions for games. What a pity for those who decided to buy there.

I just tried that, cause i have an old one and a series x one.
It rly worked with the series x one but not with the old one...thats wierd.

Any difference between using it BT wirelessly and with a USB cable attached? Sometimes USB will work when the wireless doesn't. Just spitballin' that idea.

Well got it to work now.

Normaly i use my Gamepad with with the bluetooth on my mainboard, but my old one just works with the Microsofot Wirless Adapter.
I just hooked the new one up with the adapter and now it works .....wierd stuff right there.

But now i have the mixed up Button Layout problem XD
X and Y are switched and A and B are switched.

The Controller Support is there but the wrong Button Layout for Nintendo Switch was used on a Xbox Pad.
