Controller display error. X = Y

I am playing this with a controller, but in-game it shows me to press X but I have to press Y. Same with A... its B on the controller.

What gives?

Same. Port seems pretty stellar other than that so it's pretty weird. I don't see anything in the settings about changing controller icon display.

The game natively recognises playstation and xbox controllers and should show the correct buttons for these, steam has extra options for controllers that shouldnt be required in these cases.

We recognise the problem you are seeing here. This will be fixed.
In the meantime while some are successfully using default steam settings, others are finding this works:
'left click on game (in steam) - properties - controller - enable Steam input -restart'

Im using an Elite 2nd gen Xbox controller and Im having the same issue. the y button is acting as the x and the x just doesnt exist now apparently. Game is completely unplayable for me. WTF. This has NEVER happened on any game Ive ever played lol.

I have Xbox One controller and the same problem. Button A is labeled as B, and B as A. Te same is with X and Y buttons.

On the screen, even on the controller set up screen in the options, thee button icons are wrong. theres lines from each buttton but when you get to the end of that line to see what it does its listed as a different button. Example line from button a actually says x and has the input listed for x as the a bnutton. Same thing for the y and b buttons.

yep seems bugged, it shows nintendo buttons for me using a xbox series controller..

Yes it SHOULD switch automatically like it does in all my other games, but not here. I have wireless X-Box One Controller for PC and the shown Buttons are wrong (X instead of Y and so on...)

Same issue here: Xbox Elite Wireless Controller (gen 1) via Steam on Windows 10 Pro; pretty prominent issue to have from jump and makes the game virtually unplayable.

Yup same here, Xbox One Elite control and it has all the buttons wrong even in the controller setup in options, the pad is flawless in every other game.

xbox wireles controler:
x <-> y and A<->B is switched

funny fact: if you go into controller options:
press keyboard key
then:
press controler key all will show correct nut not forever after next klick it is switched ...
problem ist the Game says press A and means B it makes me crazy

Same here. X and Y switched. A and B switched

Edit: Fixed by going into controller settings and checking "xbox configuration support". But this is the first game I've ever had to do it with.
