QLoc sucks at making PC ports
In this sea of people talking about their issues with the performance of the game and toxic a-holes out right saying that if you can't run the game, you should throw your PC in the trash, because it's a potato, and that you're unthankful that they ported another game of this series to PC.

All I can think of is how much QLoc sucks at making ports, I had issues with their bad work with Kiwami 2, having very weird problems, like crashing upon changing resolutions, or staying on a black screen with audio playing, with no aparent fix.

(Now, I'm not having that many issues with Yakuza 3 so far, just a few framedrops at 30 FPS, but I'm disappointed how the game runs worse than Kiwami 1 and 0, since they're made on the same engine, further proving the point that QLoc is terrible at making ports)

Some of their work on Capcom ports in the 2010's was extremely shoddy (Resident Evil Revelations 2 was a huge mess, for one example), but I'd rather not place all the blame on QLOC when I don't know what circumstances they tend to work under.

maybe we should instead try to think of one QLOC port that wasn't broken. I can't say I know every port they've done but I've never heard anything but complaints when they get brought up. We may get a few fixes here and there but I'm doubting we will see any address the horrendous performance issues. It doesn't affect my game but I also don't like having a few cores maxed out because these bums don't know what they're doing or don't care. It's yet another Kiwami 2 all over again.

To be fair I didn’t have any issues running Kiwami 2, I was playing that at 1080p60 with no issues so I can not judge QLOC based on that. But seeing this Y3 port literally not even being playable for me (AVX) and hearing all the terrible performance issues it just disappoints me, wondering how Y4 and Y5 are running if Y3 is already a terrible start.
if you have potatoes why aren't you just playing the playstation native versions

I would be grateful while they dont have bugs preventing actual content and graphics effects like Yakuza 0 at release...

AVX are on processor since 2011 2600k...
if your cpu is older than that, it's time to change...

Because not everyone owns a PS3 or a PS4, duh!

I don't think that would be a problem since I bought this computer brand new last year, but I'm pretty sure most people that bought the yakuza ports have a PC within the 2011 time-frame, so I don't really think that type of answer is very viable

I do get where you're coming from, they probably didn't have lower spec machines to troubleshoot and stuff, but honestly, QLOC is very well known for optimization blunders, so that kinda surprises me how they just seem to ignore the criticisms and just keep making shoddy ports. (I didn't even know Revelations 2 was ported by them, I own that game, I've switched computers 3 times and none of them could run Revelations 2 in a stable way lol)

And that's after a bunch of patches they released! At launch it was even worse.

I'd talk smack about Kiwami 2's PC port as well but that may be more on RGG Studio. Thing is horribly optimized and has tons of aliasing that can't be fixed even with 2xSSAA

Well, I do hope the remasters do get better after a few hotfixes, because I remember that being an issue with like, when Persona 4 Golden came to PC, having very similar issues, only difference is that P4G was ported in-house and it was atlus' first port to PC made by them, so it's more understandable about the minor issues, but QLOC is like, specialized at porting games, and they always seem to disappoint on PC

I don't have this issue but if you do your research, all pentium and celeron processors (yes even those released in the last few years...) doesn't support AVX. Like i said, I don't have this issue and i cannot speak for how much AVX truly is needed here but let's be real here Sega and QLOC are corporations and corporations love money, so if they limited their playerbase that would mean less money. Iam sure they have a good reason be it less money to develop ports or they actually use the AVX instruction set, either way this is a calculated decision and it's very likely it won't be fixed.

Whats wrong with the port? From what I played of it so far, everything is stable. Why do you expect these companies to try and make this for people who's computers clearly need to be upgraded. Dont get me wrong, I was there at one point but if you're still rocking a cpu without AVX, thats probably a sign to get something checked out.

nothing needs to be checked out, these old CPUs still perform well and could EASILY play a PS3 game
