Why no 64-bit with Steam?
I want 64-bit like the retail versions get. COME ON STEAM, please fix this?

It's up to the developers to supply a 64 bit version of their game (if there even is one). And since not every one has a 64 bit system, it's just easier to give out the 32 bit version, which everyone can use.

I've read Crysis 2 is 64-bit, also. People are making executables out there to help us Steam users use the 64-bit version of Crysis 2. It's just that Steam didn't feel like spending an extra hour of coding an option to say "play in 32-bit or 64-bit".

The version we download does have the 64-bit ability. We just don't have the ability to use it. It's like getting ripped off $10 for buying on Steam instead of in-store. Just my 2 cents. I love steam, check my profile, my years of having Steam. But this isn't right.

Now I know to start buying my games in the damn store, though.

I bought retail for years, and understand the pain of not having 32/64 bit switch. But, as you said before, there are fixes out there made by the community! *hint hint*

Well, I tried two fixes, neither worked, I gave up. So, 32-bit Crysis 2 is all I'm getting. Thanks Steam! :-D *SARCASM*

"And since not every one has a 64 bit system"

If anyone is playing this game at ANY sort of decent level of detail, they're running it on a dual-core system at the very least. Which means they're running a x64-capable chip. What matters is if they're running a 64bit version of windows.

Will this game even run on a single-core cpu?

This is not 1999.

Clearly this is 64-bit Sparta.

There is no 64 bit exe for crysis 2(on any version),but it is Large Address Aware anyway,so it can use more ram.
