Controller with PC version
Hi, I am a casual FPS player not interested in multiplayer.

Would like to know if playing Crysis 2 on PC with controller is possible. Is there any aim assist? will it be too difficult with the controller? should i just play with mouse keyboard?

I bought for pc because of the better graphics, but if the aim assist on the console is necessary i might rebuy for ps3. At least on PS3 I will get trophies.
I prefer playing with controller because I am kinda lazy and prefer the couch stance the controller provides.

So I am accepting sugestion, how should i play, and how is the controller support for PC.

Yes, all three crysis gmes support controller options. Not sure about aim assist, but I play using a wired xbox 360 controller, but can see why so many say the mouse is much quicker and accurate for shooting.

It has good support, but FPS games are never better with controller. And aim assist? Maybe on single player, but not in multiplayer. Isn't that kind of cheating?

As the guy above, I recommend mouse and keyboard. The controls are quite annoying, but aiming isn't so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard and slow than on controller. And also the controller's controls were quite annoying.

It plays great with a controller. Aim assist is available in SP, but not MP.

is it only compatible with a 360 controller?, i have a saitek p880 dual analog
360 controller is so much better than any pc controller you are going to find. The dual analogs and the analog triggers alone make it better not to mentiuon quality of construction. Also you can get a wireless transmitter to use your wireless controller. Mouse/KB will always be superior in speed and accuracy, but the 360 controller is so convenient for the couch PC. I also use it on the main station PC as well for some stuff, not this game, but definitely a worthy investment.

For what I've seen, aim assist is something common with controller use in fps games, that's because a controller interface without "tweaks" feels too hard and is awful for non pro gamepad players when aiming, controllers aren't good for aiming, it's normal.

I've heard stories of "pro" players trying beta shooters without assist and they had a very difficult time playing, blaming the controls for being badly controled and crappy... so yeah, a controller is for fun, not ideal for hardcore aiming
