Crysis 3 question for anyone who plays Crysis 3
Greetings;

Ok to the point. I played through Crysis 3 and yes had a nice time doing it. Now I am doing the "what I missed" sweep. By that I mean by that is the data pads and black boxes and such. Now like Crysis 2 you can simply start from any chapter that you have previously completed, which makes it easier to do the collectables sweep.

Now unlike Crysis 2 the collectable does not seem to "keep". In this case mission 'Safeties Off' I had missed a couple black boxes. but had all the data pads. So I started from there on my quest. I completed the level and indeed found all four black boxes. Something came up quit the game, and did my thing. I get back to it antother weekend later. There I am with Phsyco, and in my nanosuit inventory (H) I see my 4 unassigned black boxes. Great! I think. So I assigned two to unlock something, then continued to the next chapter. Next chapert begins, and I my upgrade is now locked and my inventory shows empty. Well now here's the kicker. I exit to main menu, then go to load game, then replay mission, then select Safeties Off, and on the right where it list's the collectables, it lists all as being found. It shows I am no longer missing two black boxes.

Now if it shows that they are found in main menu, and since they do not reappear in play-through's once found are they gone? Meaning I cannot find and keep enough black boxes to fully upgrade? And what about the upgrades themselves, can they be unlocked to 'gold star rating' by replaying missions (in any order) Or is everything locked at what is was by end of the original playthrough?

Basically do I have to replay the game from the begining in sequence in order to unlock everything? Can't I just replay the chapters I missed and finish the game from there?

And Since I found those four black boxes will they still be there should I beging a playthrough from the begining? Since can not help but notice that the black boxes that I already found and used were missing on my collectables quest.

So replaying a mission that you previously played with the intent of finding the collectables do not carry over into the next chapter, nor if you quit to main menu and start a new mission. Not even if used imediately upon receipt.

Am I correct on that? Or is it my lucky day with one more odd thing that happened to me.

Just an update for anyone interested.

I replayed from the begining with a new game using same difficulty setting. And though the main menu showed that I had indeed found all of the black boxes on the mission "Safties Off" I did see, and recieve the 4'th black box. The nano upgrade kit did stay with me into the next level/chapter. However I am currently unable to asign it to anything due to the fact the remaining upgrades require more than one upgrade kit to unlock.

This is a bit dissapointing to me since the only way to do a clean sweep as it were, would be to get everything on the first playthrough, or to replay from the begining. Not being able to skip missions on which you have found all items is a bit redundant when your priority is not story but completionist.

So playing the missions out of sequence will result in not keeping any upgrades you aquire in any mission you play out of sequence. So if you want all of the unlocks, and nano upgrades permanately you will need to be very meticuilous on first playhtrough or replay from the begining for anything you may have missed. Regardless of what the main menu says of your progress.

Now that being said, and given the happenstance of events. Deleting and creating a new profile should remove all of the unlocks and upgrades and reset everything back to virgin status. I will check on that theory after the hollidays though. Since I am going through all of this trouble just to get the upgrades I would like to play with them a bit before removing them.

I love people who update their posts.

Playing through the Crysis franchise and just hit the same mission in Crysis 3. Load up the next level, go to check my nanosuit upgrade progress, and the two upgrades I unlocked are locked again. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ asinine glitch.

I'd love to complete this game 100%, but I can't say any of the franchise has really been worth it.

Thanks for the post, if you see this.

They will also not patch it as the game is now ancient, Luckily I do not obsess over 100% as that bug would really annoy me :p
