[MUST READ!] HOW TO CONTINUE PLAYING CRYSIS 2 MULTIPLAYER
I know this has been mentioned but people still keep making new threads, so it won't hurt to say this again...

After the GameSpy shutdown many EA games, including Crysis 2 are not playable online.

You however can still play the C2 online mode by downloading NanoWars, which is a modded, standalone version of Crysis 2 MP.

It is quite buggy, but it's still in development so you should give it a chance and give your feedback on it, so it gets improved.

More info here - http://crysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=69897
(link to the website and download is there)

Keep in mind it doesn't matter if you have Crysis 2 installed - you still need to download this to play online. Tunngle is also required.

Spread the word so we can get players on, guys!

What happened to Crysis 2 online? They redirected the server target and everything was running smooth after the gamespy shutdown and now nobody can play online? It was running smooth as butter after the shutdown and something changed. It's not an old game and EA should really take care of their gamers.

You mean that it was playable after May 31? Yea, I was 100% sure that 31 was the day the GameSpy was meant to shut down and both Crysis games were still playable. It stopped working somewhen in June I think. I didn't hear anything about redirecting the servers though.

Isn't all that suable anyway? I'm pretty sure when you buy this game you pay for both game modes. Actually Crytek put this much effort into securing the MP that it was impossible to play on a pirate version (there was a patch long ago but it was fixed). To this day, people buy these games, paying over 20$ (I think, when there is no sale) and they don't get any information that the MP is unavailable anymore. (EDIT: Nevermind, it says in the Steam store that only SP is available)

Clearly they need another Gamespy type client so all these multiplayer games can continue to be played. Crysis 2 had a solid online community.

or they can fix the multiplayer in the way they did for the first borderlands by having the multiplayer work through steam rather than cutting out more than 50% of the game that people would actually want to be buying it for, EA could probably make their own service for multiplayer servers without too much problems aswell, it may be a case of money, but they have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money anyways

Very nice, reading this after I bought the game :DDD I think Steam should warn this clearer tho.

Yes, it's BS cuz Steam only shows Singleplayer as a playable mode. If you've seen a gameplay from the MP you'd expect to see MP in the damn game. Even if you notice that it only shows SP you'd still think it's a bug, unless you knew about GameSpy. On Origin you get a message about this.

It's not the game that's dead, it's your brain. NanoWars works well via Tunngle, and its dev team is trying to make it run without it.

My brain functions quite well actually, and you are just the tard. I will not install some crappy third party software on my computer just to play a game, period. Those who do are the idiots, not I. So you go right ahead and try to revive this dead game via a third party tool. I will just sit here on the side lines and laugh at you. You now are simply fodder for my entertainment.
