Save Game Mod?
Does anyone know whether there is a method, or a Mod, that allows me to save my progress where I want to instead of having to get to the next checkpoint? No PC game should use the checkpoint method. Like many people, I have a real life and need to be able to just stop when I want, then pick it up another time without having to lose progress. It is difficult to fully immerse yourself in a game when all you want is to see "checkpoint reached" just so that you can go to work, or remove the families burnt food from the oven.

No such mods exist not only for this, but for any game period.

There is a mod that installs the quicksave feature. It is more of a mod of the check point system but it works as a quick save, Default F5 I believe.

Anyway here :

Thank you, Rochas. This is exactly what I was looking for.
I was a little surprised by the reply from RT - only a couple of days ago I installed a Mod (FCAM) for the original Far Cry and am now able to do quick saves in that as well, so such Mods certainly do exist.

Where/How do you install these mods though? The mod author gives no instruction or how-to on any of his pages including the ModDB page. If someone could simply help me out on the install process I'd be greatly appreciative!
Never mind, found the how-to. Thanks!

EDIT: for anyone else looking...

I have just started a nostalgic replay of the Crysis games. Crysis 1 and Warhead felt like brand new games with superb graphics as well as all other features being excellent. On starting Crysis 2 I was quickly annoyed and found myself typing "save game mod" into the search and was amazed to find myself reading my own post (old person's bad memory). Using the Quality Mod (which was still installed on my computer) I simply press F5 and it makes a new checkpoint. Simple and efficient. An excellent mod.

LOL I relate to this so much honestly.

[Insert Gandolf meme] "I have no recollection of this place..."

I've got 15 minutes until the timer beeps on the food. I can play Crysis 2 because of the excellent save game mod. Hurrah. (No game should be released without the ability to save).

Especially on single player narrative games.

I used this one, I like it better cause it only mods save ability and nothing else. https://zapek.com/blog/crysis-2-quicksave-mod/

I am near the end of my playthrough, so not going to change things now. However, this looks like an excellent mod so thanks for posting. It is true that I am using a bit of an over-the-top mod just to be able to save. Mind you, the whole thing seems to play very well.
