Crysis 2 Maximum Edition

Crysis 2 unsupported video card error on GTX 970?
So I just purchased a copy of Crysis 2 from Amazon (it's not a Steam download but hey, this is a wonderful place to seek advice)...everything is installed & activated fine, but when I click on either the Crysis2.exe or Crysis2Launcher.exe I get the strange message saying Unsupported Video Card detected! Continuing to run the game might cause unexpected problems.

But regardless of whether I press OK or Cancel, the game doesn't start. However pressing Cancel gives me a "GameStartup Interface failed to load" message.

I don't understand why I'm getting this...I have researched on the net for a fix and found out that many people with slightly lesser-than-required GPUs failed to play the game because of this, but my system is equipped with a GeForce GTX 970 with 3.5GB of GDDR5 VRAM! It's perferctly capable of running the latest Crysis 3, GTA V, BF4, CoD:AW at maximum settings...it just doesn't make sense.

And yes, I did patch the game. It was v1.0 and it updated to v1.9

Can anyone tell me what to do?

No idea personally, I have the steam crysis 2 maximum edition, and it runs perfect on my 970.

As its not detecting your card properly I would suggest a full uninstall and then reinstall of your drivers.

This. I also have a 970, and it runs this game with no problem.

That's right, there should be no problem as far as hardware requirements are concerned, but I think there is some software bug within the game's launcher that's preventing it from recognizing the 970 as a supported GPU.
