Crysis 2 Maximum Edition

Crysis 2, Windows 10, and Direct X 11
I recently started playing Crysis 2, after having added the folder exceptions rule in my Windows Defender. I've recently been having this issue with regards to the opening scene, where by game crashes around the part where you have to swim to the surface. Quite literally the only time I was able to get through this segment by forcing the game to run on DX9 (via Options menu). I was wondering is this is only problematic part of the game when DX11 is enabled?

I have an Intel Core 17-6700k non-overclocked/stock, with an AMD R9 Nano (Power Increase+50 with undervolt) and 32GB or DDR4 RAM. When I played the above section, my drivers crashed for a second upon trying to approach the surface (it merely reverted to stock settings), but I was able to complete the part where Prophet finds you and gives you the suit. I want to resume playing the game in DX11 for the full graphical feature set.

I've not had any trouble running its sequel, Crysis 3, with the above configuration and settings. Crysis 2 so far is the only game that has been giving me issue with regards to DX11, and it's not as if the R9 Nano is any slouch, either.

Ive not heard of dx11 doing that at that point directly, there simply must be something going on there that your gpu drivers are just not happy with.

Have you tried different drivers (like older ones)?

Have you tried verfifying your files incase of corruption?

I have reverified the files. The doesn't seem to be anything wrong with them. And right now I'm using the latest AMD drivers (Adrenaline 18.5.2) on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. So far, this is the only game in my library that has given me such a hard crash.

I'm going to try the game again this time without the Power Increas and Undervolt combination. Last time I used the default stock power configuration it crashed on me to the point I needed to shut down...and it even affected my BIOS settings (precaution in case the OS hangs).

Edit: Crash to desktop happened again, but this time I thankfully mitigated the effects of my GPU having to reset.
