Fight system? Flashlight? WTF?

There's no serious tutorial so I must ask here.

1) How the hell works fight system?
I'm in second episode and it's still total mystery for me. Sometimes I need just two shots to kill enemy, sometimes at least dozen and doesnt matter how much I'm pushing right mouse button on them.

2) And what about flashlight?
It seems that I dont need all those batteries becouse flashlight simply still working. WTF?

Ok, it's not having your flashlight on them. Enemies have a "shield", and to break the "shield" you shine the flashlight long enough on them it will break the "shield". You'll here a tone and see a flash when the shield is broken. Batteries are just a quick boost to your flashlight's boost. You can boost your flashlight's beam by holding the right mouse button down, but it will drain your flashlights battery and if it goes out it'll need to recharge. (Hope I'm not confusing you)

Tutorial is in the first level where you're first given the flashlight and gun. You're told there exactly what to do with enemies.

The tutorial is completely sufficient and is done in the first level. Basically use light until enemies lose the darkness, then shoot them.
