In Alan Wake 2, Are Graphics Better With Ray Reconstruction or Path Tracing?
I have a 4000 series card and can't enable both

PT overrides RT. Yes, it is much better with either of them on.

Right but the game doesn't let me use both. Which looks better. I'm using a 4060 ti 16GB..

You not understanding. PT is RT, but a better version of it.

I mean ray reconstruction. GeForce experience says that Ray Reconstruction is the highest setting.

Ray Reconstruction is part of DLSS. It came out with version 3.5. It was added to DLSS to help improve games with RT/PT.

Yeah. I'm wondering if I should use that but it disabled all RT and PT settings. Which settings make the game look best? I'm only asking for 30 FPS at 1080.

RR only works with PT. I dont have your card or system. So I cant give you a definitive answer. Just try the settings and see whats best.

I dont use GeForce Experience. Its garbage. So I just use in game settings of my choice.

Ah. So RR is a more enhanced version of PT. Okay. I'm making the game look good.

RR uses AI upscaling in order to provide better performance when using DLSS.

So which should I use if I just want to take pretty screenshots?

Ray Reconstruction is not an upscaling, neither PT. It is proprietary nvidia denoiser which overrides traditional ones, more performant than those, reduces ghosting, noise, preserves more details. It should be used in conjunction with path tracing, so, the answer is you must use both and RR is not officialy toggleable WITHOUT PT by desing (can be overridden for hybrid RT in CP2077 for example, though.)

If it is not toggleable, it may be driver related issues and require clean driver reinstall, as it helps for other people with this symptom. Hardware accelerated gpu schedulling can also be a culpit if it turned off in Windows, it should be turned on for this and FG to function.

Okay, it's an override. Will use RR since it also boosts FPS.
