These are not plot-related spoilers (i.e, they won't give away anything important to the story), but they will mention a new weapon, hint at the location of a hidden chest and manuscript, and tell you what areas are/aren't infinite enemy respawn. Skip over it if you want more general advice:
1. It's possible to kill all the Taken after finding the flashbang grenades, but not recommended. See your objective officially change to "Talk to character name here", but don't do it right away. Instead, go back for a hidden chest and manuscript as the enemies are now gone ;)
2. After you find the first red box after riding the cable car, RUN! This is the first confirmed infinite enemy respawn area, and the only one in this episode. Cross the rope bridge and come back to make it enemy-free.
Don't be a hero. Run! At least until you get a very unexpected phone call. Then, you've no need to run from anything.
Use your flashlight to "stun" the Taken. Any time they're about to swing at you or they start running at you (instead of just walking), they can be stunned for a couple valuable seconds with a short boost of the flashlight. This also happens when you completely drive the darkness away from them, but that's not necessary to escape and of course drains your flashlight a lot faster than one quick tap. So just tap the button to stun them and take off running until you're out of breath again. Then turn around and face them while still jogging toward your objective.
This is sometimes a better alternative to trying to dodge (because you can actually stun them in mid-swing if you time it correctly, thanks to auto-aim), though you should practice dodging too. Best to wait until you're facing one simple, medium-sized enemy and have full health to practice that though.
Oh, one reason you still want to learn to dodge is that there are some big, burly ax-wielding types that charge at you (You'll know 'em when you see 'em) and cannot be stunned while charging. Only way to avoid getting hit by them without killing them is by dodging...
...and they're not far off from where you are in the story, come to think of it - BUM BUM BUM!!!
Do not hold accelerate, just run at normal speed occassinally tapping the acceleration, (every 1-2 seconds, sometimes faster if they are really right behind you) which also happen to be dodging, so you are really hard to hit and the effort is never wasted. Also sometimes a slight tap left or right (if they are far and throw stuff at you).
Of course you cant run like that forever, but mostly enough to get the batteries back and then use vic's advice.
Espacially in latter chapters, there are a few spots where the generator becomes trully a deadly trap and you ll be occasionally on low batteries and ammo.
