can't get over with Lover's Peak, need help!
I reached somewhere near a hollow tree (maybe a stump) in that quest and couldn't get it over. I mean there were at leat three waves of enemies, the first one consists of a big guy and two with sickles/axes, then there were another three axemen/sicklemen in the second attack wave which I barely survived once after 15 attempts. I run out of ammo at this time if I could luckily make it. The ammo shortage resulted in my failures directly.

If I ran, I will get killed by throwing sickles, and the axemen outrun me. I did use the boost flashlight mode but it just wasn't strong enough to remove their protection early. By the time I wasted one' protection, there were two coming very close.Dodging is good but it only worked a few times. And all I got was 26 revolver bullets and two shotgun shells grabbed from a dark cave. I failed like 20 times and it pissed me off and I almost uninstalled this game. Any experienced players know how to deal with this scene?

While it is possible to make it through here without doing this, some have found it helpful to just go back to where you fought Rusty. There's a large bin full of revolver ammo here, it never runs out. Seeing as how the enemies will stop spawning (There are no infinite enemy respawns areas in this episode), you should be fine.

Same for me. Many many tries for the last 7 months. The lack of agility of Alan Wake is very annoying.

That's sounds like one desparate way to complete the game. But I guess I should give it a try.

If you find limited amout of ammo snatching away the fun of playing games, check this out http://jackguide.com/alan-wake-cheats/ you don't have to just give up the game.

I know, but if you're stuck you're stuck. Most of the game isn't like that section at all, so if it's just this part driving you mad, no point in missing out on the whole game just because of this one area.

Again though, it's perfectly possible to get through it without doing this even once. I've never had to go back for ammo here in any of my playthroughs, including when it's on Nightmare.

My problem is not ammo. It seems like I can't get familiar with the control of this game. I probably need more time playing this. :boomer:

Just tried again from a PC about a year after I gave up. Looks like I'll be uninstalling again. The cheat site contains a trojan.

Cant believe I stuck with this since first playing it. The amount of enemies near that large tree stump is bad enough, especially when the sods come behind you out of no where. But for me the one thing that really peed me off was the absolutely stupid amount of time the batteries last. Seriously, 5-10 seconds???? And they have the nerve to call them Energizers. Stop buying cheap ones off the market and get some Duracells lol. Maybe the devs thought batteries that lasted any longer made the game easier. Either way I uninstalled and have no regrets. The batteries ruined the game for me, oh and Barry too :/

Hello there. Just encountered the same thing, out of ammo and I've got one taken with throwing sickle alive. As figures, the agility of Alan Wake is not needed at all as long as you quickly right-click on taken with your flashlight which would stagger the bastard. So using this gimmick I've managed to go through to the Lover's Peak barricaded entrance to the bridge. Oh well, what's gonna be next you may ask? Just followed the path where the big tree medallion hanging on the ropes. Just stood behind it, rocked the hell out of that piece of wood and when taken approached it just hit him to his death. I mean i never thought that you'll be able to do something creative to overcome a difficulty in this game.

Sometimes plot is just dumb, but i guess overall i like this game very much.

Thing about this game is, you don't always have to kill the enemies. Just keep going towards the light, dodge them if you don't have enough ammo and keep going forward to next the checkpoint. Turn around now and then and just blind them with a tap of the flashlight to stun them and get away from them.

try to run towards the light-you should see it in the distance-or you may have to start a generator to get light-if you dont have enough ammo or flares-the light will get you out of tricky situations

what difficulty level do you have it on?

This is how it works.
U r really wasting time if u try 2 fight any enemy.
Simply run, dodge attacks & then repeat.

Yes - echoing other comments: you don't need to kill every enemy. Sometimes the goal is to stun them and quickly dodge and run towards a light source. The enemies will fade away.

If you do want to kill them, master the art of stunning them with your flashlight and running around and dodging a bit. This is essential for packs of them.

Also - quick dodge is your friend. I believe it is the shift key - tap it when they are near and they will miss you and things go into slow mo so you can scan around for your next move.

Also echoing this. All you're doing is wasting time and your own inventory when you try to kill all enemies, especially with how long the flashlight can take to actually stun them to vulnerability.

The best thing you can do is quick dodge and run like hell as others have mentioned. The minute you go into one of those overhead light sources, enemies will always fizzle away.

The game is going to do this to you in multiple instances. Rather than flashlighting to death and firing, you have to learn to use the environment around you. Dodge, use any available spotlights nearby, anything to give you an advantage.

And avoid the bear traps, obv. They're a pain, literally.
