That's sounds like one desparate way to complete the game. But I guess I should give it a try.
If you find limited amout of ammo snatching away the fun of playing games, check this out http://jackguide.com/alan-wake-cheats/ you don't have to just give up the game.
Again though, it's perfectly possible to get through it without doing this even once. I've never had to go back for ammo here in any of my playthroughs, including when it's on Nightmare.
Sometimes plot is just dumb, but i guess overall i like this game very much.
U r really wasting time if u try 2 fight any enemy.
Simply run, dodge attacks & then repeat.
If you do want to kill them, master the art of stunning them with your flashlight and running around and dodging a bit. This is essential for packs of them.
Also - quick dodge is your friend. I believe it is the shift key - tap it when they are near and they will miss you and things go into slow mo so you can scan around for your next move.
The best thing you can do is quick dodge and run like hell as others have mentioned. The minute you go into one of those overhead light sources, enemies will always fizzle away.
The game is going to do this to you in multiple instances. Rather than flashlighting to death and firing, you have to learn to use the environment around you. Dodge, use any available spotlights nearby, anything to give you an advantage.
And avoid the bear traps, obv. They're a pain, literally.
